Man...any strategies/advice for that birdlike fire boss in Zero 2? The first wave of bosses. I beat the other three, but this guy is killing me. If I do manage to land a charged blow with the sword (electric element) he takes massive damage, but I've fought him probably a dozen times and haven't managed to hit him more than twice before he kills me. He's very difficult!
When I swing at him he vanishes, and then does one of several attacks. As far as I can figure, only one of these can be countered, but I usually end up getting hit with it anyway. There must be some good strategy! (Avoiding gamefaqs.com for a reason...I have no self-restraint and end up reading more tips than I really need...)
For anyone in the UK who is wanting this, it seems that its not been released yet and that the release date over here is 27/08/2010. I might be wrong, but as I can't find it in Gamestation, Game, Ebay or at Play.com where it says the release date, it seems most likely that this is the case.

Whew...I beat that guy after about 7 tries last night...and however many others over the past week. He was a nightmare, but at least he's gone. Now I'm just glad I will never have to fight him again, such as during one of the final stages, in a boss-gauntlet sort of scenario.
Also, now I'm on that flying machine stage where you have to hop from ship to ship while everybody and his mother shoots BB guns at you. This game is brutal!
If you have e-tanks and don't take too much damage on the first form, you can just stand underneath him, jumping and upthrusting with the rod. When I figured that out, it saved me a looooooot of frustration. Hope that helps.

Thanks CB. The main problem is those weird ring things that go down and hold you in place.

It's about time I posted in this old topic again. I am currently in the middle of Zero 2, but I haven't been playing it much due to Dragon Quest IX existing. It took me a while to get through Zero 1 because I made myself complete every mission and never use any cyber elves. I'm doing the same with 2. I am loving them so far! I have only ever played one like I said, so this is a real treat.
I just beat Zero 1 this morning, and holy cow that final gauntlet of enemies and then two forms of the final boss were quite interesting. I am just playing through all 4 games on Easy Scenario first, since I am a new comer, but I am really dreading playing it on normal when it is super tough and will have to fight that gauntlet again.

Rah, I must get this ASAP. Mega Man 9 and 10 were both awesome, and this is the same developers. And Turtlelink, I'm thinking you should get this first. I mean, you could get one great game, or FOUR great games. Think about it.
Funky Gamer got me this game for my birthday two days ago, and man is it awesome! Hard as can be, but awesome. Thanks Funky. I'm only on Zero 1 still and have vowed to beat the game without Easy Scenario and so am only on the third mission right now (haven't tried it).
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...

No problem amigo!

@JumpMad Not yet, 'tis a crime. @Funky Thanks for the equal percentages of reward and torture . Okay so I leveled up the buster all the way and have four stars on the sword. I want almost all of them before trying to take on the third boss again (I accidentally wasted all of my continues).
Does anyone know if the X copy has a weekness to one of the element chips?
Not as far as I can tell. In the first form, where he keeps switching his own elemental powers, it's possible that his weakness keeps changing too (though I was never quick enough to find out for sure). But in his final form, I think he's equally un-weak to everything.

The ice chip worked for me.
And do you have any tips for that weird Bird Like boss in Megaman Zero 2?

Oh man, I finally kicked his butt, but it's been a while. Always move to stand on those pillars rather than over the lava (you'll see what I mean) when the screen shakes, because the jets that come up are very deadly. When he disappears from the screen, get ready to jump over him. He might not come soaring in from the side, but, if he does, you're ready. When he turns into four clones, dash out from middle. When he appears just above you, don't let him grab you. If he shoots the lasers, watch his pattern; there's always a safe place to stand, but you have to get used to it.
Electricity and Z-Sword finally did it for me...but this was NOT an easy fight. This guy has so many moves, and you need to react to them all in totally different ways. He ain't easy. :/
