Many of you have an attitude like this: "I don't need a metronome so Nintendo shouldn't waste its time creating this!" Well, I do need a metronome and IMO Nintendo should make a metronome DSiWare app. You aren't the only ones with a DSi so we should at least appreciate the fact that Nintendo creates something new instead of just circumcising existing games and releasing them as DSiWare.
Here here!! Not every single DSiWare has to be a game to please the masses. To me that's the great thing about the DS. It is fun for people with all sorts of tastes and interests. It's the reason I have a DSi and not some other hand held game console that only puts out games for hard-core gamers (or whatever). Maps, clocks, calculators and metronomes might not be something for everyone, but they're pretty cool to other people.

A metronome and tuner would be really useful for musicians. Stop being so negative .It's not like you're being forced to download it.
Is this also a tuner? That would be a great idea, given the mic capabilities of the system, but I didn't see any tuner mention in that video, unless I just overlooked it.

Yeah, right... like Nintendo were generous. I think it would be a seperate 200 Point download at best. I hope the metronome will have an option to turn on ticks for 8th and 16th notes since fluidly playing double stroke rolls without them is kinda hard.

As for the debate on whether Nintendo should be making this stuff: I say yes, provided we get other releases alongside them, like Japan does. When we get release weeks with nothing BUT apps, I get annoyed. Of course, I'm perpetually annoyed by the trickle of releases in the US in general, so this is no real surprise. It's a justified sentiment when Japan just got THREE VC games and four DSiWare programs this week!

The video is gone so I can't see exactly what this is but are we talking about just a simple virtual metronome? like the musical tool? This is pretty wierd because a couple weeks ago I actually made and released a metronome app on Flipnote Studio. I would embed it here but I'm currently on the Wii. Just go to the site and search "Metronome"(caps count). Then click the search result, "Metronome App". It runs much smoother on the DSi than on computer though.
Whoa, whoa, whoa! Hold up there! A metronome and a tuner!? That's amazing! As a musician that is VERY useful, especially since a good metronome and tuner can run upwards of $40 each. Obviously you're not a musician, and don't take into account those of us who are. Too bad I still don't have a DS, but if I did, I would buy this right now!

If you need 8th and 16th notes, why don't you just double or quadruple the tempo?
@grenworthshero: Wouldn't that be a less-than-ideal solution? From my experience, limited though it may be, digital metronomes tend to make a different noise on the first beat. So double tempo would result in twice the different noises per frame, which could cause problems for the musician. Quadruple would be even worse!
Now, I haven't done much of anything musical anytime particularly recently, so forgive me if my info and/or terminology is a bit off.

@grenworthshero: Stuffgamer1 described the problem perfectly. Playing triplets right can also be a pain. It would be great if the metronome allowed to change time signatures and other things a good metronome can do. Loudness is also important. Of course, it's hard to expect Tama Rhythm Watch functionality for just 200 Points.

Could you put a link to it here? I'd like to see it, but I don't know how to search the Flipnotes website.
