It was also on the nintendo week, the one where Reggie was interviewed. I personally am not going to, since I like portability. Besides, I'm perfectly happy with the DSi.
It's too pointless and expensive for someone who already has a DSi, and even if you don't you might want to hold off for DS2 at this point since it's almost guaranteed to be announced at E3. If you have a job and a couple hundred bucks isn't much to you, then do what you want. I won't say the bigger screens don't tempt me, but I'm not going to be Nintendo's little whore.

Electronic Entertainment Expo, it's a pretty huge deal in the States for any and all video games companies. It's where the big 3 (Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo) make most of their gaming announcements for the following year. Galaxy 2, Metroid: Other M, The new Wii Zelda (kind of) and Golden Sun DS were all announced for the first time last E3. Analysts predict a new hand held to be revealed by Nintendo this year, and it's pretty much confirmed as Nintendo have even made several hints at it and have claimed that it will boast high resolution graphics and some sort of motion controls (probably just a gyroscope). Anyways, keep your eyes open come June 15th, it's always very exciting for gamers.

The XL is a luxury item like the micro was for the gameboy. IF you already have a dsi I don't see why you would want one just because its bigger and argueably a bit clearer. Also, most of the adverts have the dsi xl resting on a table and not held in the hand. Why is that?
You can't transfer games from your current dsi to your xl either. Also, its too expensive; getting close to the wii's price!
I could do with that £140-£150 going on games anyway which are upcoming this year. I have a dsi and a wii to run!
I love my DSi and carry it around me almost everywhere I go. I wouldn't mind the DSi LL because my eyesight isn't that great. But it just doesn't look very portable to me. But who knows ... once it's out, and I have a look at it, I might change my mind.

Paperback book size seems pretty manageable. The only Gameboy I've seen that's truly pocket-sized is the Micro, so the larger screens seem like a plus. Of course if you've got a DSi then the upgrade is less compelling.
