Topic: DS close to the Best Selling Game Console (of all time)

So right now all the DS Family has sold: 147.86 million. That's very very close to the 154.59 million of the PS2. If Nintendo held back on relasing the 3DS till later, then the DS could of outsold the PS2. So what do you think of this?

I think the PS2 still deserves to be number 1.

I reckon it will usurp it. With the 3DS not doing so well and young mums still eager to pick up a nifty gadget for their little darling(s) the humble DS will be able to notch up a good 7 million more sales. _{Don't worry, I have calculated this with an extreme degree of accuracy}

@Mickeymac I couldn't agree more! When I look at this gen in comparison to the PS2... (at least in terms of RPG's/JRPG's) it's just terrible! :/ But, being fair, DS is one of the best (if it's not THE best) game consoles ever! It just has a great mix of genres available in the system and some games that couldn't been (hadn't been) able to be made in another platform (Hi! Rhythm Paradise, Nintendogs, Soul Bubbles, etc.).

Surprised? I'm not.

The DS can still sell.
Still it is impressive for a home console to have the title Because you only need 1 in 1 house rather than a ds with multi versions and a DS is most likely to belong to one person.

I really hope that the DS family of systems becomes the best selling game system. It would be a great way to top off its seven years of releasing great software. I personally am looking to help it reach that number by picking up a DSi XL or asking for one as a gift come Christmas. While I do have the 3DS, I've also had the entire DS line except for the XL. I may buy in.
