Anyone get a perfect star for level 100 in Digger Dan? that level is a nightmare, especially trying to finish it before the bonus timer runs out. Just wondering if it's worth getting the perfect star (if it unlocks anything)... I have perfect on levels 1-99 already.

That is hard to say, I played it for like 30 minutes at a time on lunch, etc... maybe 8-10 hours to get perfect on all the levels...
It's definitely worth the price, I've downloaded dozens of DSiware games and this is my favorite.

I finally beat level 100 and got the perfect star! I didn't notice anything extra but it was a fun game.

SteveW - The backgrounds in the menus should be different with all 100 stars. Not the best reward in the world, I accept, but there ya go!

Wow, you're right, I didn't notice before but maybe I had to reload the game or something for it to change. Looks nice!

The real question is... when can I buy a sequel?

Well, a sequel. Funnily enough, I was discussing some possible new gameplay mechanics with my wife earlier today for a sequel.

Got to finish the iPhone / iPad version of the first game, first. There also may be a possibility of a boxed DS version too and maybe a PC / Mac version.

There is a possibility that a sequel could go on to 3DS, but I'd also like to produce a DS(i) version.

I would shoot for a 3ds or normal ds game before a DSI verison ..... i think there are only 2 DSI only games and both were very bad

The DSI CPU is twice as powerful as the DS CPU though. Not that we need more power for a 2D game but it is disappointing that nobody makes use of that.

When I say DSi game, I'm meaning DSiWare. I wouldn't put out a card based DSi only game.

@SteveW - The double clock speed processor doesn't necessarily mean more power for games, as daft as that sounds. The rest of the hardware runs at the same speed as the normal DS so you can only make use of the faster processor in certain circumstances. I'm aware of a developer who adapted his DS game engine to do more 3D calculations on the processor rather than the graphics hardware for DSi which allowed him to have more bones in animations, but for most games, there is no point to the additional processing power.

In Digger Dan, I was trying to get all of the display rippling when under water (all of the graphics are drawn with the 2D hardware, not the 3D hardware) but since most of the display is sprites, I required throwing too much data around every game frame. The faster processor made no difference, it was the other hardware slowing things down.
