Hey I got these problem, I see today in a shop the game Scribblenauts and I wanted to buy it, but I remeber there is going to be a new Scribblenauts game: Super Scribblenauts (or Scribblenauts 2) and well I finally decided to not to buy the game and better wait, but how much do I need to wait? So im in these hard decission because im looking for a nice Ds game, I wanted to buy Professor Layton and the Pandora's Box but didn't find it, So I want a game but idk if is better to buy Scribblenauts now or better wait till autum 2010 for Super Scribblenauts, the other thing is idk when is going to reach Scribblenauts 2 to my country...

So some help?

It's probably better to wait for Super Scribblenauts, in my opinion. With better controls, more words and an adjective system, it will probably blow the first Scribblenauts out of the water.

Exactly.

I second that. I played about half of the original Scribblenauts before I finally gave up on it. It can get very tedious when you know how you WANT to solve a puzzle but can't actually make it work because of the controls. Also, I think I would prefer the ability to call any object into existence in a true platformer with puzzle-solving elements rather than in a puzzle game. A storyline and sense of adventure could do a lot to make the game feel like less of a gimmick.

Hmmm yes I have hear that the controlls are terrible, but how much do I need to wait? I like these type of games that the only limit is your imagination, sad is that you nkow how to solve it and because the controlls you can't

I feel as though the controls are "Out of Place" instead of broken. You see, the controls are more point-and-click than anything else, but the game sometimes requires you to use the controls as if they were NOT point-and-click controls. It's a very weird situation. As for my final opinion, you might wanna wait until the second game comes out. It appears to be a much more focused experience.

Well the only problem is the wait, I really don't care to wait until the game comes out, but idk how much do I need to wait until the game comes out where I live (Costa Rica, Central América) there you don't get really games, but well maybe I can but it from amazon but idk how much the taxes are... So idk what to do.

When I first heard about Scibblenauts I couldn't not wait for it to come out. I thought it sounded just sooo cool - I wanted it right there and then. I didn't even own a DS at the time, but this tipped me over with wanting to get one.
When I got the game I thought it was awful. It was so fiddly to play and I got very frustrated with trying to make it work. I sold the game a month later.
You sound like me when I was desperate for the game. But if I were you I'd wait till the new version comes out. I don't know if it will be any better, but the original game is just a pain to play and not worth it.

The game is really terrible, and unless the next one is great, I'd suggest just forgetting about this game. The physics are non existent, the combat makes no sense, the things you summon rarely interact realistically, 50% of the games vocabulary is different kinds of fish, there is no sense of weight (a feather will way as much as a T-rex), many of the words in the game simply summon the same thing (Ie: Box and crate summon the same thing) and of course, Maxwell controls like a drunken bull wearing rollerskates walking backwards down an icy hill.

However, to it's credit, it is kinda fun in VERY short bursts.

The best strategy in the game: go up stairs and pause balls.

Well, I personally did enjoy Scribblenauts. However, I do think you should just wait until the next game. At the very least, the control will be fixed, and the adjectives sound like they will make the game very interesting.

How about you buy both games and have a nice day?

If you are only choosing one, just wait for Super Scribblenauts. I played my girlfriend's copy of the original, and while I fell in love with the concept, the controls really killed it for me and kept me from picking up my own copy.

Just wait because it will be the entire first game plus more. The only thing that won't be in the Super Scribblenauts is the story line.
