Topic: 'Zombies' on Wii, Not on 3DS?

Any idea if this SNES game will ever be released on the 3DS eshop? Seems weird that it's on the Wii Shop Channel as a SNES classic, but not the 3DS?

Plenty of SNES VC games released on the Wii haven't made it to the 3DS or Wii U eshop, and odds are they never will make it.

@shaneoh Any ideas why? Surely if Nintendo have the rights to them, they'd want them all to be on the 3DS too?

I ask because I might buy Zombies for the Wii as it's the only SNES game I want which isn't on the 3DS.

LucasArts own the rights to the game (and Disney owns LucasArts). It's up to them to get it put on the Virtual Console. However LucasArts has been reduced to less than ten employees and functions only as a licensor to its intellectual properties rather than developers, which is why, for example, major Star Wars games are being made by EA, they acquired the license for it. The only possible way we'd see it on the VC, is if a third party (Konami, for instance, who published Zombies for the SNES/Megadrive) were to do all the work getting it onto the VC service, and surrendering a part of the proceeds.

@jay81uk They clearly don't want the New 3DS to have an extensive catalog as the Wii.
