If Nintendo really cared about giving only the people who payed full price something extra, they would have given some free things before the announcement of the price drop. It was a good idea in theory, but people thought of the price match guarantee scheme immediately, and now it's too late and there's no way for Nintendo to differentiate between those who paid 250 and those who paid 170. And I don't see them complaining one bit about stores lowering the price early because the idea of a low price AND free games will probably just provide a nice spike in sales.

In the end I don't care how much people pay for their 3DS because I already have mine, and I don't care if they cheat the system, because I'm just happy there is a system in place to cheat. I'm still very happy that Nintendo chose to give 20 free games. And in the end everybody wins because there are more people with a 3DS encouraging developers to give us good games.

True, true. The more owners, the higher the chance of StreetPassing, as well as a larger online community. I'm actually a big supporter of the price drop, as now many of my friends will be able to purchase the system. The more owners the better!

Yup, I got mine earlier today. I am now officially an Ambassador.

Sure, I'll just brush away the unfairness of the situation and forget about the whole thing. The free games are for those who purchased the system for $250. If you bought it for $250, you deserve the games; if you didn't, you don't. I'm sorry for being upset by an unfair situation? There's nothing "wrong" with me for feeling annoyance because of cheaters. And yes, it is cheating. They're cheating the system by joining the Ambassador program, despite the $170 pricetag they paid for their 3DS.

Nobody told you and run out and buy it on day one. This is one reason I wait to buy systems instead of buying on day one. There is always a price drop if you just wait.

That wasn't my point lol Price drops are imminent for all products and I'm glad I bought my system early; I play it for hours everyday. I'm just saying that it's unfair that people are taking advantage of the program.

You get the 20 free gamnes cause you pay the full price of €/$/£250. If you pay the lowered price of €/$£170 you may not have the 20 free games. That means you should buy it after the price drop (If it was already low on launch al right, the program wasn't know by then).

Nintendo doesn't know how much you paid for your console: its stipulation for entry is to access the eShop before midnight tomorrow. Whether you paid $500 or $5, it doesn't matter to Nintendo — they can only check if you've accessed the eShop, they can't check your bank balance.

I'd feel kinda bad if I bought the 3DS at an early price drop and got the 20 free games because the free games are basically an apology to early 3DS owners...

Months ago I was in Target and I noticed that most of the third party 3DS games were $29.99 while the first party software was priced @ $39.99 understandably. I don't really that Nintendo should lower their first party game prices anyway.

Great way to put it. Everyone who gets it for 250 actually deserves 20 free games. Everyone who gets it for 170 and STILL gets free games...

How onn bloody Earth is that unfair? The situation doesn't effect YOU in any way shape or form. Are you really so selfish that you're going to freak out when something good happens to somebody else because nobody is rushing to give you free things? The worst part is when you try to act like you don't care about getting the good deal, you just don't want anybody else to get the good deal. WHY?? Are you just a hateful person that doesn't like to see good things happen to other people?
It isn't "cheating;" if Walmart made the offer, why not take it? It's not hurting anyone, it's not hurting Nintendo, and it's most certainly not hurting you. The Ambassador program is not some sort of status symbol for those who spent the most money on their 3DS. 3DS's have been going for $200 or less on eBay for months, brand new, so are all of those people who took advatage of the best price they could find "cheaters" too, because they're being lumped in with the early adopters and didn't spend as much as you? And the people who buy the console on Aug. 11th are no less "early adopters;" the console has only been out for a few months.

Stop complaining and GO PLAY GAMES.

Blaze

@moosa There is reason. It's not simply selfishness, but as this was meant to be compensation to us earlier adopters, when the games were first announced I felt compensated, but due to the fact many can get it for a lower price yet still get the free games, it fees as if our compensation has been taken from us.

I don't feel bad at all. It is called taking advantage of the system and being smart. I forgot who on this site some people to just use the price match thing, but once I heard that I knew I was going to buy the system at full price, knowing I would get my money back. Nobody forced anyone to buy the 3DS at launch. Good things come to those who wait. Plus, you got to enjoy the 3DS early, isn't that enough compensation?

Oh yeah...I knew it would pay off to wait for a 3DS, and it is. Not only do I get to be an ambassador, but I also get to do it for a reduced price! Woo-hoo!

And I'm sorry, but to those of you whining about how this isn't fair to the early adopters...just stop, okay? We get it, you don't like this because you payed full price, and we didn't. Now we get to be ambassadors and that pisses you off. Too bad, it's done. I'm sick of hearing that it's unfair.

Yeah, I heard about this too but unfortunately the stores around my place are still selling the thing for $250 until the 12 th. So yeah, I'm not able to be "Cheap". And I can see the purist of fanboys raising their glasses to another victory...

And besides, Steam has saved me enough money as-is. I think I'll just spring for the 20-games-free-less edition of the 3DS and maybe Ridge Racer seeing as how it's the only game that interests me.
