Was wondering whether anybody has played this on 3ds and knows whether you can use the circle pad to control the character?

Apologies if there is already a thread about this!

A bit off topic but could anyone say how well this game compares with super Mario 3d land as I have just finished it and am looking to get super Mario 64 ds!

You can certainly use it and it is indeed more comfortable, but the game is not "enhaced" to make use of it, it works just like the dpad.

I replayed the game on 3DS; I found it to be much more comfortable (even though I really enjoyed it on DS, too). The control scheme of SM3DL is very similar to SM64DS, so I was able to jump right into SM3DL from SM64DS already knowing the controls. Mario games are nice like that, the controls are always the same.
