I just thought of this today, I can't play portal on my computer cause mine is mac osx 10.4 and i need 10.5, but why not for the 3ds It would look great in 3d and you could possibly aim witht the gyroscope, though that would be annoying, L and R keys would be perfect for blue and red portals.

As awesome as that would be, there's no way Nintendo would let Valve create a portable Steam service for the 3DS and having it be anywhere close to good enough for Valve's standards without Valve losing tons of money for every game bought. Also, with the size of the game, it would probably be too large for the 3DS's download capabilities.
No. The idea is mesmerizing, but it just couldn't happen.

That kind of contradicts, most of us sit on the couch when playing 3DS, some sit in bed playing consoles and computers.
Portal 3DS would be interesting, I've never got to play Portal and seeing Youtube clips, make me want to play. Maybe they would change their mind, if they do. I hope they are not lazy with the graphics. Like several companies were with the Wii, horribly boxy, etc.
Yep valve is very anti portable. Biggest reason steam is going to lose a big amount of marketshare late next year.
Because portable consoles have exactly what to do with PC marketshare?
Because the gaming is gonna be shifting to the handheld market again with the release of the first 3D dedicated game handheld and the first HD dedicated game handheld.

... And? Sorry, your point doesn't make much sense to me. While the power of handheld gaming devices (dedicated or otherwise) is coming (sometimes scary) close to PCs and home consoles, there aren't many people who wouldn't buy a PC/home console because they already have a handheld. And if Steam's marketshare does shrink, it's probably only because it's growing more slowly than other digital game distribution services, not because people are deactivating their accounts.
