@Shotgunryugan I think that was a cutscene. Clothes ripping has that flashy background and elaborate camera angles, which were not present in that scene, so there's still hope for some better brief-shots.
@Blast Well, the target audience for this game (in japan) is 15~18, and japanese normally don't like older girls that much (except for milfs). It's a terribly unlogical thing, but it's not like they deliberately create jailbait so we westerners feel bad about staring at their boobs. I simply don't care - they're fictional, I don't see them as that young anyway, and their proportions are nonsensical to begin with, so there's no need to feel bad.
Will definitely buy. Have my preorder in Shinovi Versus and would LOVE a physical release of Deep Crimson, even if it is only a limited release, like SV.
Also like that there will be some fanservice with the male characters. Makes the game even better for those of us who aren't strictly heterosexual men.
I don't think that's the reaction they're looking for!
Anyone buying this for it's borderline hentai content, has never done an internet search before.
I'm not sure what you mean. You're saying there's no need to buy something like this for the pornographic side because 'the internet'? That doesn't really make that much sense. People like new and different things. You could say the same to anyone who ever buys a new kind of porn.
People are too caught up in sexuality/vulgarity. I'm getting this because it looks fun as hell and cartoon boobs are hilarious.
tbh that's my biggest problem with the game. Getting offended by it it is just stupid, and anyone who does is just stupid. But I watch anime, I've seen the "done for irony" boob fanservice humor. Its been done, and this game seems like a one joke game for a joke that's been done.
Like compare it to Conception 2, which is just SOOOO out there with its concept that it's super interesting and memorable. This is just the dumb version of Kill la Kill, but nowhere near as awesome. This is admittedly coming from a "hasn't played" experience but everything I've seen and read about it reinforces this. It's just a single joke, and not a particularly interesting one, as the core of the game's appeal. It's basically the equivalent of if some western indie made a game where the entire point was "Michael Jackson sure was weird harhar M I RITE?!!?!??!!"

All I meant was buying this game solely for it's "pornographic" (in quotations because it's hardly pornographic) content is naïve because the amount of free porn on the internet. It'd be willing to bet money that it's more difficult to find info about this game than it is to find free hentai on the web.
And if you don't know how to find what you want on the internet by 2014, you're probably too young to buy anything for it's pornographic content...

@Zizzy Yeah, there's stuff with even heavier jiggle physics out there, to say the least. But the sexual appeal isn't just about the content, but the medium as well. Having a fanservice-loaded game like this on 3DS is an entirely different thing than watching hentai/ecchi/fanservice stuff on the internet (though there are some image services with stereoscopic 3D which offer that).
Of course, that doesn't invalidate your argument in the slightest. Getting Senran Kagura for the fanservice alone is pretty stupid.
Am I the only one buying this for the story and not the fanservice?
Nope, I'm 100% with ya. The writing and the general plot are actually really incredible, even when comparing it to recent games with oh-so-great stories. The only stepping stone was the perspective from the Hanzo and Hebijo side, because some events heavily contradicted each other.
But Deep Crimson has a single storyline split up between the characters simultaneously.
For those who are actually buying this for the story and gameplay... I applaud you.
But for those who are secretly buying this game for the fanservice... facepalm
By the way, Atlus handles usually handles fanservice well in their games. USUALLY their "desirable" women are well over the age of 18. Isabeau in Shin Megami Tensei IV for 3DS was definitely in her 20's.

@kkslider5552000 Conception 2 for 3DS.... I played the demo for a good while but after I experienced that "mating" scene... I walked away. The girls are freaking middle school to early high school age. I couldn't do it, man. It bothered me too much.
I like fanservice but dang... DO IT RIGHT.

I'll buy it because I like classic Final Fight/Street of Rage/Ninja Turtles 2D beat'em ups and unfortunately there's not much to choose from on that genre nowadays and at least the first Senran Kagura Burst was one of the best 2D Beat'em ups in years

Ironic, since Conception II is an Atlus game... then there's also AquaPazza, Growlanser, and Code of Princess - each of those titles/series has some rather questionable character ages for the fanservice they offer.

Hahahah I know the irony is strong in what I said. Then there's Dragon's Crown.....

Meanwhile my problem with Senren Kagura is that it just looks like a dull beat 'em up when Castle Crashers, Scott Pilgrim, and Dragon's Crown pretty much put the rest of the genre out of a job...
So things that I have noticed when watching some of these clips:
1) The framerate seems to have improvements considering the first one had some issues with that.
2) It seems like there are a lot more cutscenes which is making me wonder if they'll be dropping the novel aspect of the game.
3) It seems like there are less enemies on screen at the same time, I'm wondering if they'll have smarter AI and put up a better fight or if it was done to maybe fix some framerate issues.
4) No more lab coat for Haruka, I guess they replaced it with a robot, I think this will most likely change the way she plays.

Yet none are on a Nintendo console wish they were though.
