Topic: Predict a next price drop

When do you think the 3DS price drop will happen? I want one but that $250 price tag is keeping me from getting it. That's just about what I paid for my Xbox! Anyway, when do you guys expect a price drop to happen? If it doesn't happen before Christmas then I guess I'll sell some games to Gamestop but if it has some sort of price drop then I'll get one without selling anything.

Few years (1 1/2 to 2) years. $200-$230. If the NGP some how does really well then it will be Christmas.

3DS Pocket the size of a DS lite... That would be awesome!

This Summer/ before Christmas

It will be $150-$199

I think It will drop around the release of the Sony NGP. It seems like a likely place to drop. Posibally by $25-$50. (IMO)

It already is about the size of DSlite.

I doubt the price will drop as demand for the device builds momentum.

Yeah, I think sales will have to fall off before there is a price drop, so maybe next spring after they milk all the x-mas shoppers and the cost for the components comes down a bit. I don't think it will be a big price drop, but they'll probably just nudge the price down little by little each year.

VERY VERY VERY VERY slim chance it'll drop $50 by Christmas.

My bet is that'll it'll drop next summer $50.

I have a feeling that the length of the high sales of the 3DS will be no where near as long lasting as the DS without faster hardware revisions or price drops.

I read an interview somewhere where Iwata (I think it was him) claimed he would like to get an 'XL' version out within the next year. That would be a good time for a price drop.

Highly doubtful there will be one before this Christmas considering it set sales records. I predict a price change in late 2012.

It is the size of the DS Lite. Exactly the same size.

Its that small? I heard it was a little bigger then the DSi!

I think at Christmas it will drop to $229, and when the next 3DS comes out it will drop to $199.

Yeah, my Lite's soft protective case fits perfectly on the 3DS, save for a small kink where the 3D slider is. The screens are bigger though ... or the top one, anyway.

Why would they drop the price? its making them tons of money.
