Yes, I see it too. At least Poliwrath is fast and bulky enough to deal with most Electric types (dat Weakness Policy boosted Earthquake). In fact, I think that Starmie is the only one that wouldn't survive a non-STAB Thunder.

Yes, I see it in pretty much every rain team... though I have to admit that its learnest looks promising. I'll think about it.

If you want a bulletproof Quiladin, I have a sh*t ton of Chespins I was breeding. A couple have 4 IV`s, too.

@Spino I would suggest either getting a Ludicolo with Rain Dish or a Quagsire (or Swampert once pokemon bank comes out) to help with that electric type weakness... or both. I mean, you can do whatever you want. I'm not gonna stop you.

I've decided that I will use Pokémon Bank to rapidly transfer all of my valuable 'mon over to this gen. Ransom wasn't enough, but with the bribery of Celebi, I think I'll go for it, at least for the free trial.

The pattern is determined by whichever region it was caught (or hatched) in.
So in other words, it's already been determined.

@Wonder_Mask The pattern is determined by which Region your 3DS is set to when you first start the game.
You can check here if you're not sure.

@BenAV Well that's a wierd way of determining that. Apparently I live in the polar regions. Eh, it's not the worst possible pattern.

@Wonder_Mask Yep, Polar's definitely not too bad.
My Australian game is stuck with the ugly River pattern, but I started my second copy in French with my region set to France, and that's got me a nice Meadow pattern (which is what I use on my competitive one).

I have a Vivillion that looks just like Princess Twilight if anyone watches MLP.

edit: I've been IV breeding a lot recently. I never did that any gen before. That's a testament to how easier its been made this gen. I already got a 4 IV protean froakie woot!

My five-six IV Pokemon count is up to 39 now I think.
It's fast enough that even if you want to use some pretty ridiculous Pokemon just for fun, you can still just breed it with five IVs anyway.

It's good to have at least 1 or 2 5 IV Pokes per egg group. It makes IV breeding a lot less stressful.
