Apparently a ROM is already available online. I've got the file right opened in a new tab.. So the game's playable, in a not so very legal way, a week before launch. That's pretty messed up..
@MegaBeedrill Stats are weird. Komala's 115 attack.. Pyukumuku with those high def stats.. Definitely not the things you'd expect. A lot of slow Pokemon too. Looks like Trick Room will get plenty of use.
So, Alolan forms are confirmed to just be genwunner pandering. No base stat changes whatsoever- they're really only type swaps.
This really does kinda feel like Gamefreak just gave up on the metagame. People arguing "quality over quantity" have got nothing- very few pokemon in Gen VII look viable at all.
Like, as sad as it is that the Pokemon this gen have some weird stats, it makes the base non-competitive game possibly more challenging as a result. Apparently the amount of EXP you recieve from grinding is at Black and White levels, meaning grinding is extremely hard. Your Pokemon will likely barely ever pass the level of opponent trainer Pokemon. This could prove to, at the very least, be a more challenging base game.
Alolan ninetails had a -9 attack nerf and a +9 speed buff.
So while regular ninetails has 100 speed alolan has 109.
Also one of the best changes (for me anyway) is ariados gets sword's dance now and toxic thread (lowers the attack stat of pokemon), Flygon gets Dragon Dance Finally , Masquerain got +20 Sp.A and Speed (seriously, why did they just randomly add 40 points to its BST... this is insane and I sweep with masquerain already) and knock off/sucker punch got nerfed (45/70BP now respectively).
Also:
Torkoal gets drought
Pelipper gets Drizzle
Gigalith gets sand stream
Vanillux gets Snow Warning
Beartic gets a hail version of swift swim in Snow Rush
Lurantis sucks, its hidden is contrary, the only negative stat changing move is leaf storm, and it has only 45 speed, i cri
Gengar lost levitate for cursed body as well, sucks for gengar mains.
@BlatantlyHeroic I mean, it actually counters the EXP share fairly well. I'm okay with that, especially for the hilarity of beating a level 50 mon with the EXP share on and watching a level 1 mon shoot up 20 levels.
@MegaBeedrill Okay, there's a few tweaks. But still, nothing huge.

@MegaBeedrill - After 4 Generations, Gengar's ability is suddenly not Levitate any more? Something about that is really baffling to me. Happy to hear about Masquerain though, love that Pokémon. ^^
Once a LuigiMan, now a Dreamy representation of the Goddess of Nature.
Retired Palutena Gem Provider. Mario Maker Levels
THANK.GOD.
That's a hell of a lot better than the stupid "everything gets all the Exp" nonsense they started in Gen 6. It's convenient for grinding if you want to fill the Pokedex but even that was better/easier in Black and White because those low-level Pokemon got like 4-5 times the experience points anyway.
Gen 5 exp system was terrible. It made the game take twice as long without enough content to justify it, and it made it way too difficult to train. If you wanted harder training in Gen 6, disable Exp Share. Gen 5 you were just stuck with a terrible exp system.
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...
