@FriedSquid Shiny Alolan Mega Gyarados

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Well we seem to have a bit of an info drought here. So to have something to talk about, what are some Alolan forms you guys want to see included in the games? (though I don't have a list of which are confirmed as not getting any)

Personally I'd really like to see a Psychic type Golduck, as it just seems natural.

I believe the next Sun/Moon update isn't until Tuesday (the 4th). I'll take the gradual drip-feed versus an information overload. XD Which is still bound to happen when the games release....

With the presence of Minior, plus the fact that the two legendaries are based on celestial bodies, maybe there's a chance of there being an Alolan Clefairy/Clefable line? I don't see Cleffa getting a new form, but the other two are very possible. For the type...maybe Fairy/Fire.

Alolan Sceptile.

It's literally Grovyle.

Don't hate me because I'm bnahabulous.

Yeah the fact that we can consider a week break to be a drought shows just how spoiled we've been with info. At this point I hope the remaining new info is just Alolan forms and new Pokemon related to already revealed ones. Komala's evolution (assuming it evolves) would be nice.

@Tyranexx @IceClimbers Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about the lack of info and hope things continue to slow down until release, just wanted something to talk about in the thread haha. 'Drought' was probably a bit strong of a word, but I'm used to more frequent reveals so it felt longer than a week. Also agreed with Climbers, I also hope they mostly reveal Alolan forms from here on out

And as a Clefable fan any Alolan forms for it are good, but I like the sound of a Fire/Fairy type. I think I'd also want to see something done with Fearow as it's an underrated 'mon and could use a design upgrade.

@FriedSquid Here's a list of confirmed and possible Alolan forms. Pokemon like Rhydon and Tangela are unlikely because of their evolutions in other gens, Alolan Vileplume would be possible for example, but Alolan Gloom wouldn't be. Basically any Pokemon that isn't marked has still a chance of getting a Alolan form. Although this list is a couple of weeks old and I believe that Paras and Parasect were confirmed to not get an Alolan form. A shame I think; Alolan Paras infected with Morelull; Bug / Fairy, would've been really neat.

@DefHalan You snake!

And how are we de-confirming things again? Why Chansey and Tangela but not Starmie?

Don't hate me because I'm bnahabulous.

Octane

@Haru17 Two reasons; All the Pokemon that are crossed out have been seen in trailers in their regular form. Starmie for example was visible in the overworld. Tangle hasn't been in any trailer, however since it evolves in Tangrowth, Alolan Tangela is unlikely anyway. Alolan Weezing for example would be possible.

The counter argument is that just because we've seen a Pokemon in a trailer, doesn't mean it will be in the game. Just to cover that; All Pokemon that were shown in trailers leading up to previous games ended up in the games. They're not showing Pokemon that aren't in the Alola dex; Since Alakazam for example was seen in a trailer; it can be assumed that it will be in the Alolan Pokedex, and since it was in its regular form, that means that it won't get an Alolan form. The only exception is the Meowth we've seen in the player's house, the Meowth that was brought over from Kanto.

Anyway, the second reason is that all of this is supported by the riddler, the guy that basically leaked 95% of all the confirmed leaks so far; He leaked most of the Pokemon, new game mechanics and more. So there's that as well.

Bolt_Strike

I assume he's going by which ones have appeared in trailers, but that doesn't exactly confirm anything since the trailer battles are pretty much scripted.

@Octane That's what I'm saying. Chansey and Tangela are circled as likely candidates despite both receiving evolutions in later generations.

The logic about normal gen 1 pokemon seen in trailers makes sense though.

Don't hate me because I'm bnahabulous.

Octane

@Haru17 Circles don't mean likely candidates. Dark blue circles means those Pokemon receive an evolution in a later generation; therefore making an Alolan form very unlikely.

@Bolt_Strike Trailers are never scripted in that way. All Pokemon that appear in the trailers for a specific game always end up in the Pokedex. The battles you see in the trailers are ''possible'' in-game; Gengar for example was in one of the trailers, I can assure you that you'll be able to catch Ghastly or Haunter at some point in the game.

@FriedSquid: Don't worry, I didn't take that as complaining. I just mentioned the next Sun/Moon info date for a reminder. XD

That chart of possible Alola forms is intriguing, but I'm not sure if I completely buy it (though it's not a bad info organizer). A few of those Pokemon with evolutions in other gens are only marked because of pre-evolutions. As shown with Pokemon like Alolan Raichu, just because a previous evo is "normal" doesn't mean the rest of the line is necessarily unlikely or exempt.

@Tyranexx You mean Jigglypuff and Wigglytuff? Yeah, nobody said they can't get an Alolan form, it was only noted that they have a pre-evo in another generation. Kinda pointless info, because as you said, Raichu got an Alolan form as well. I think the dark blue circle is more important; Pokemon with an evolution in another gen probably won't get an Alolan form.

Octane

DefHalan

I don't see why Alolan forms would only affect Gen 1 Pokemon. Also, i am not sold on the idea that if a Pokemon is shown in a normal form that it won't also have an Alolan form in the game.

Octane

@DefHalan Well it makes sense though. They're clearly trying to cash in on the gen 1 nostalgia. I mean, they have the Red and Blue games on VC to transfer non-Alolan Pokemon if you want those in Sun & Moon. They only revealed gen 1 Alolan Pokemon so far; and all of this is confirmed by the riddler (you know, the guy that pretty much leaked everything before it was revealed). I can't proof it, but that guy has been more credible than all the other leakers combined so far. So you have to take my word for it.

Octane

DefHalan

@Octane I have no idea who you are talking about. I think they have only announced Alolan form Gen 1 because Gen 1 is super popular right now. If Gen 1 Pokemon are the only ones that get Alolan forms and if you can't get regular forms of Pokemon that have Alolan forms, then I find that pretty sad. More people will be jumping into Sun & Moon without playing for years. To exclude regular Vulpix/Ninetails or not give Cubone an Alolan form seems weird to me.

@DefHalan The riddler is a Chinese guy that is someone involved with the translations I presume. A week or even several weeks before a new info dump, he posts cryptic messages about new Pokemon, game mechanics or characters. For example; before Pokemon Sun & Moon were officially revealed; he posted a picture of a Litleo and Zubat (answer: Solgaleo and Lunala). Here's a compilation of some of the stuff he's been hinting at over the past few months (this is just some of the Pokemon): http://forums.bulbagarden.net/index.php?attachments/rrridddle... The four question marks are currently unconfirmed Pokemon that will most likely be revealed next week or soon after.

Anyway, he also made that I posted a few posts back. His cryptic hints and the Chinese leak from a while ago are the only credible leaks so far.

IceClimbers

@Octane Was that Starmie seen in the overworld in a tank? If so, then it shouldn't be seen as confirmation of anything, as like the Meowth in the trainer's home, it could have been imported.
