@DefHalen It took three great balls to catch Phione? That's insane.
If you've caught everyone else anyway, then you should only take anti-Water Pokemon, and then Phione should be easy. If you still need Phione and a Ground type Pokemon from the Safari, then take Grass types. Phione is very easy to beat if you have a couple of super effective Grass or Electricity types. I think I beat Phione in 3 moves. He has a base 40% capture rate, and adds 3% per move remaining.
@Spoony_Tech You'll likely wind up with a 50/50 shot of catching him initially, and if that fails then you'd be near or at 100% with a great ball. You won't burn a lot of coins trying to catch him.
By the way, I haven't faced Phione but I've managed to catch all the other Pokemons using Great Balls. Now, I'm using a mixture of Electric and Grass types to catch it, but I haven't see it so far.
@maceng: Don't worry as I haven't seen him either. I'll keep trying though but I'm finding out I don't have but one grass type fully leveled and no others past level one lol. My electric are better but they suck against ground and it seems like that's all I'm facing since switching my party.

I managed to get phione on my first try, but it took a while to get him. Best strat for me was to make an anti ground team for the first 6, then an anti water team for phione.
I still haven't seen Phione. You would think the law of averages would catch up for me at some point. I've been playing pretty much every 2.5 hours as well since Monday.

@Spoony_Tech: Law of Averages? That's not how probability works. If Phone's encounter rate really is 1% it will be 1% no matter how many times you play the Safari. The main difference being you allow yourself the chance to encounter and catch Phione by continuing playing. Also, wasn't it you who said you didn't care if you caught it or not? You could try to take actions that may manipulate RNG. Coincidentally, the moment I swapped out my 4th Pokemon is when Phone appeared for me. There are others who have come forward and said approximately the same thing, wouldn't hurt to try. I seem to recall a study that showed two people looking for each other in a crowded mail find each other faster than if one person stays still.

@sykotek: Yeah I did say that but I might as well keep trying till the next challenge comes out. I also know the law of averages start over with each play but it would be nice to see him once out of 100 plays.
Oh and I did switch it up quite a bit actually.

That coin level, and the 100 Experience level (both starfish, don't remember which is which) made the Safari much more bearable, so if I hadn't caught him by now I would still be trying. It's two weeks, you'll get him eventually, Tech.

Staryu had the coins
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...
There's a part of me that wishes I had not caught all the available Safari Pokemon actually. It doesn't make sense to level up your Pokemon in there with Starmie and Staryu being random encounters if you don't have a potential Pokemon to catch. Currently I'm spending my earnings on Exp 1.5x in Ampharos instead of banking more.

Well I'm up at least 12 to 15k on coins because of it and that's the most I've ever had so I'm happy. Plus not leveling has freed up some of my gaming time as the safari is over in like 5 mins or less where as leveling can take half an hour or more.

@Spoony_Tech: I seem to have forgotten to wish you luck in my last post...which was the whole reason I started writing that post in the first place. You'll get Phione if you stuck with it I'm sure and what I said in the last post was meant to be a look at the bright side sort of thing. I'm down to about 70k from 99,999 just working on leveling up the Pokemon Klimbatize suggested for S-ranking Chesnaught and it'll only cost me more before I'm done.

I've had a couple people tell me they couldn't pull off the Normal strategy at all against Chesnaught, so I'm hoping you won't be the third. Another person was able to do it. I hope I don't waste your time. :/
Chesnaught has been the toughest S ranking in the game so far for me.
@Klimbatize: Don't worry about it, I don't see it as any more of a waste of time as it already is to S-rank an EX stage in the first place. If I can't do it, it's not your fault, it just means I'm not as good as you are at the game, yet. As it stands, I currently have Snorlax and Lickilicky at Lv.8 and Arceus at Lv.5. I'm eyeing the competition for the new Mega Stone and considering working on increasing Phione's level before attempting it.
