I wonder if there going to be any photo editing software comming out. Like and apt or a game. Something that would let you play with the 3D effects. Like take a 2D photo and make some objects stand out or other invented. I would love to see what the general public could do with something like that.

If your good enough, you can do that with Photoshop, or any other photo editing software.

I don't think most photo editing software can let you do autostereoscopy stereoscopic 3D images

Actually, if you don't have the right hardware, its and pain in the butt to transfer with an SD card, especially if you don't want a photo to end up on Facebook before DeviantART.....I hope they have a function where you can email it straight to you inbox.

I don`t understand what you`re trying to say. As long as the file types are supported by the software, you can edit any image to your heart`s content. The image is not physically 3D; it is the same as your everyday Jean Luc Picard facepalming photo. A good photoshopper can potentially make any image into a 3d image.

A: Two, one to hold the light bulb, the other to rotate the universe.

We're not talking about 3D images, we'er talking about 3D effects. You know like the movies been doing latly. 3DS does the same thing but with out the glasses. unless you have a 3DS or something that uses the same effects it would be hard to edit a photo because you wouldn't be able to see what your doing.

A regular computer screen wouldn't support the kinds of edits that ReifuTD is proposing. The 3DS screen makes it possible for 3D images to have special 3D effects. A standard monitor would always be in 2D, regardless of the illusion of depth that it provides, and no matter how good you are in Photoshop you can't change that. It might come close via illusion, but it would require crossing your eyes for the proper effect.

The images created through the (hypothetical) image editor would only be properly viewable on a 3DS. Were you to transfer them to a computer, they wouldn't look right.

Better photo editing tools would be cool. I found the DSis editing software to be pretty crappy...Or was that the camera in general....Probably both. lol
The camera was nothing more than a gimmick anyways.

I love this app - https://photolemur.com . I believe that so far in the photography market, there are no worthy alternatives to it. I like the fact that I can work with it on a Mac (and some programs do not allow this) and some of the processes in it are automated.

I use Pixlr X. The best part of this software is it is easy to use and let you almost every basic photo editing workflow. As I am an amateur, I love Pixlr for its user-friendly interface.
However, you can check out this article: https://www.xp-pen.com/forum-1790.html that includes a number of free open source photo editing software.
