Topic: PETA hates Mario for wearing fur *possibly offensive*

I'm surprised PETA didn't cry about Red Dead Redemption when it came if they're so concerned about animals being killed for their fur.

what about Monster Hunter, Resident Evil, Pokemon, heck even kirby you kill animals

No. Just no. I saw this story on GoNintendo, and it completely shocked me that PETA would stoop this low. Oh who am I kidding? They've done this before.

PETA is not in the same league as the ASPCA, Humane Society, and other animal rights groups. PETA shouldn't even be considered a real animal rights group because of the crap they do to get publicity.

Did PETA exist in 1989 when Super Mario bros. 3 came out?
If so Why weren't they freaking out about the Tanooki suit then? It's not fur anyway it's a suit.
This is like picking on Donald duck for not wearing pants. How could anyone be so ignorant and full of themselves?
I guess Nintendo will have to start putting disclaimers in the credits of Mario games.

After SMB3 and presumably SM3DL all you think about Tanookis is "wow, Tanookis are awesome! Can I have a pet Tanooki? What? Tanookis are being turned into fur coats? (you read from someone other than PETA) That's horrible!"

PETA are targeting the wrong Nintendo game. Clearly the game that promotes violence towards Tanookis is Animal Crossing. After he makes your loan bigger for the third damn time I wanted to make a Tanooki suit out of Tom Nook. Tom Nook is an , what more needs to be said?

I like to think it's because they're aiming at children with their morals.

That's funny, because that same comment is the first comment on the kotaku article linked in the first post of this thread.

After seeing PETA's version- albeit, kinda cool, I have question their sanity. The gore.. I mean, damn. How are they going to get their message across with so more blood. I mean, I guess that's their way to do it, as they did with Cooking Mama, but I don't think the Mushroom Kingdom has bloody hills, red skies (less Bowser is up to something)... It looks like they have been working on this for a long time.

Don't know why they didn't do this back in 1990-1991 for Super Mario Bros. 3 because the tanooki suit was featured there. No clue if they were around then, but if they were.. Weird. That game was very very popular, just as SM3DL, maybe not exactly but still

LOL, I got it. If your not careful with raccoons, possums, etc. They'll pretty much jump at you with fear and try to eat your face off.
I've only heard and seen the ugly snarling beast that possums are until one night, I saw these cute fuzz balls walking in a line. I looked with more detail, they were possums.

You can say it's yours, but when other people wrote the same thing word for word on other sites, I fail to believe you.
