I just got a Vita for Xmas and despite what people say... Its a great handeld console! Im in love my 3ds but one thing i hate is im not able to have voice party chat with friends while playing. Something the vita allows me to do ! Plus i can do it with ps4 friends !! Nintendo should allow this Option !
Currently playing : ZombiU on Wii U / Soul Sacrifice on Vita / Mario Golf World Tour on 3DS
Honestly I can do without voice chat. I either get stoned/drunk morons yelling about who knows what or foul mouthed 12 year olds who think its cool to say the F word every other word.

Heroes of Ruin had voice chat, you had to press the L or R button to do that. I would know, since I kept saying "Look at me, i'm spinning around really fast, and you gunslingers are to slow"
Those where good times
I made Sheldon & Mr. Randoms back on Flipnote Hatena, now i'm a kangaroo mod that has a funko pop collection!
I'm not keen politics since that stuff is spooky, I'd rather watch SpongeBob over Fox News anyways!
I don't care about Voice chat, the two big things I think the Vita has over the 3DS are account system and dual analogs...... Software wise both consoles have great libraries but the 3DS clearly has an edge (at least outside Japan) there are rumours that Sony is gonna start doing the same thing Nintendo is doing and localize some of the Japanese Vita exclusives, if they do that the maybe the Vita can start to catch up in terms of library depth
...that it has no Gravity Rush? I thought that was obvious.
Or the fact that it doesn't have a second stick, or a wide, crisp screen, or a good, reliable account system, or decent networking feature so you could easily connect with friends, or Playstation Plus...
...actually, the 3DS kinda sucks. If it didn't have all the great RPGs right now, I'd probably be using my Vita way more.
Only reason I don't have a Vita is it's too damn expensive... we can't even afford a 2DS at this point, apparently... (luckily my uncle is sending us a second 3DS so I don't have to worry about that anymore)... if I could afford one I'd totally go for it... although, if I could afford a Vita I could also afford a home console... so I'd probably still go with that instead of a Vita...
If you want to get technical the big thing for me that Vita has over the 3DS is the cross platform play. I wish Nintendo had a system like that for the VC.

There's a few reasons why I won't buy a Vita:
1. Poor memory options
2. It has what I would consider "niche" games, and I'm not interested
3. The games it does have, I can get somewhere else
4. Doesn't have 2 screens
5. I don't care for older PS games, so PS1 and PSP games being available aren't going to make me want one
6. NEAR isn't even close to being as utilized as I think it should be
The things it has going for it are, party chat, a more accessible account system, and possibly(?) better looking games. I don't use party chat, but it would be cool if it was there. A more flexible account system is never ruled out. NNID is technically the account. They just don't let you do much with it.
It ultimately comes down to what kind of games I like. 3DS has the types of games I want more. Party chat and such would hardly matter on a game system that has games I don't really care about.
EDIT: I like 3D on the 3DS, too. PS Vita doesn't have that.
