Topic: Nintendo`s Next Big Thing!

Now we know the 3DS,well is 3D.But I ask myself,what is Nintendo going to do next?Is it a tablet?Is it a copy of the PS Vita?Or is it a copy of XBOX 360?We don`t know,now,this is the thing these companies do.Please reply on your guess of what Nintendo`s Next Big Thing.

So, I don't where have you been the last 8 months, but there is a thing called WiiU!!

What was the Wii a copy of? What was the 3ds a copy of? I don't think Nintendo is in the business of copying their competitors. I doubt their next big thing will be a copy of the Ps Vita or the Xbox 360.

I think Ninty's next big thing is to announce a MAJOR power boost for the Wii U, it's been rumoured but Nintendo may be making sure that the Wii U is as powerful as anything Sony or Microsoft may announce in the next year. Of course that IS just a rumour.

I also expect Ninty to have some features kept secret until JUST before launch... I think they'll have learnt from Sony trying to steal their motion control ideas (anyone remember the poor Sixaxis motion control added to the Dualshock 3 shortly after the Wii was unveiled?).

Nintendo's next big thing? Isn't it sort of early for this?

I mean we have the Nintendo 3DS and there is already word on the street of Nintendo 3DS Lite currently being developed and then we know that the Wii U is on it's way and so I don't know how we can be looking at 'Nintendo's Next Big Thing' as I thought the Wii U and 3DS are indeed the next big thing. I guess I'm missing something?

Nintendo's next big thing is actually a little blue pill that makes you experience the games IN REAL LIFE.

At this point in time I don't know. The 3DS pretty much hits all the marks hardware wise. Maybe do the second analogue stick thing, better top screen or bettery battery life... but that's all revision and/or add-on stuffs.

Currently the only thing I can think of Nintendo doing next with handhelds, for like a brand new one in 2018, is more power and higher resolution screens. By then OLED and maybe a more sophisticated 3D effect. Seriously though, they've done all I thought they could do with the DS with the 3DS and some.

Wii U. It's not out yet so technically it's the next "big" thing

Not sure where else you can go after 3D... but will they continue with 3D? Will it still be in the next handhelds? Or was the 3DS a one-off thing?

Nintendo said they wanted 3D to be a success after the failure of the VB and it has been, so their goal is complete...

But Nintendo could do anything, they're constantly reinventing and innovating. Whatever Ninty makes will surely be a piece of artwork though.

@xDemon720x There are better "glasses free" 3D screens than what the 3DS has. Some do the same thing but add even more viewpoints, some allow the "sweet spot" to be moved and include head tracking so it's never out of focus. They could also "simply" improve the quality of the parallax barrier and/or the screen behind it to reduce the crosstalk in high contrast scenes.... but that could just as easily be a revision.
