And I quite like the look of it. At least they've had one good surprise this whole show...but seriously, I will take my Manas where I can get them. Especially if they're gonna also make it a Beyond Oasis reference (albeit probably with no tangable connection to it). Better than whatever Square-Enix will inevitably regurgitate all over the Apple Store...
I'm going to miss all these rpgs if the NX is vastly different then the current ds/3ds model. Both these systems have provided 1000's of rpg hours that none other can even come close to.
This game is a day one as is most rpg's on the system. As long as they keep making them I'm going to keep enjoying them for as long as I can. I've got a bad feeling the current trend of handheld rpg's is slowly coming to an end and I want to ride this wave for as long as I can!
Sorry about that lol. Game looks great and I'm glad someone is still offering something new to enjoy.

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
This was the best news ( the only news? ) out of e3 for me. I really like the visuals and the Egyptian theme. The 3DS has evolved into an almost GBA-like haven for RPG fans.
This game seems more like Fantasy Life to me. RPG with a cute art style and characters. Since Ever Oasis won't release until 2017, I'll have plenty of time to play the Fantasy Life DLC before then.
Action RPGs are always welcome to me. I'm not a huge fan of the chibi artstyle but it looks interesting so far.
This blue eye perceives all things conjoined. The past, the future, and the present. Everything flows and all is connected. This eye is not merely seen reality. It is touching the truth. Open the eye of truth... There is nothing to fear.
@FriedSquid CodeName steam is sadly a failed IP. I really did love it for just about everything. It was a breath of fresh air in that it had unique graphics, interesting story, and good gameplay. Too bad people didnt take to it.. I would have loved a sequel.
I might however try this Ever Oasis

The problem that Steam had was that its setting was just questionable and that its too similar to Chronicles gameplay. I haven't gotten it but I know that even if I wanted to, I don't think the physical copy is out there anymore.
As for this game, I'm not sure what to think as I still don't know what this game is about besides the setting being a desert.
Anybody can explain what is the gameplay here to me?
the gameplay is you build an prosperous oasis, recruit new villagers who in turn can help you in dungeons and with your shops. your character is the one who supplies these shops with stuff to sell and you get a percentage of the profits.
here's the e3 website http://e3.nintendo.com/games/ever-oasis-3ds/
Want: Harvest Moon: One World, Story of Seasons: Pioneering Town, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury
Finished the Alola Dex.
Now playing New Horizons, Wrath of White Witch and Sword
I thought this screamed multiplayer but the e3 page only says 1 player. I'm actually more interested in it now knowing it's built around a single-player experience. I was afraid switching between party characters was the single player workaround for a multiplayer game (like Tri Force Heroes, which I haven't bought).
I'm glad to have learned that.
Considering it's got the same director as Secret of Mana, it probably is! Now it just means you can't use Humans to replace the ******* ******** AI characters who will constantly get stuck on every ledge and run face first into the strongest enemies in the room while using the wrong spells/equipment!
Or it could just mean that even Nintendo knows as much about this game as we do, and the lack of any multiplayer referenced could be a blatant mistake that will be corrected in a few months. Who knows?
Anyway back on topic.....since this game is called ever oasis, I wonder if the devs at Grezzo have liked the game Beyond Oasis as they both have similar things. Siblings being kidnapped so you have to rescue them, world taken in desert lands and the magic guardians and what not.
Only difference here is the gameplay and the art design....

PSP and Vita? Those have been the consoles to own for RPGs over the last 10+ years (in the west anyways).
This game looks ok. The combat looks a bit too much like Monster Hunter for my liking, but if it turns out NOT to be like Monster Hunter, then colour me intrigued.

Well, it's nothing like Monster Hunter. Like, not even remotely close. There are big monsters, yes. And yes, you can hunt them using various weapons. They might drop important things you will need later, in fact.
Those statements are also true in the vast majority of action-RPGs since 1992. There's a lot more to Monster Hunter's combat than that, though - much of it dealing with the way movement is handled in order to make fights both challenging and visceral. As well as epic, of course.
You don't have anything to worry about. I think the others here hit it on the nose when they compared it to Fantasy Life, considering it seems to use a lot of similar mechanics, as well as the general flow of combat...in fact, didn't 1-up Studios co-develop Fantasy Life with Level 5? And they worked on several Mana games, including Sword of Mana, back when they were Brownie-Brown. And don't forget the Magical Vacation franchise. Really, it can't be a coincidence. While I won't go as far as calling it a sequel, considering what Fantasy Life 2 is turning into, they probably had to do something with all those assets...
