i just got a new handheld a new 3ds for the first time in a rly long time,
i turned it on and saw that it was almost full charge so i went ahead and
set up everything, then i popped in pokemon game just to see if everything
was working fine and to see if i have any pixels any where so i ended up playing
for about 30mins after all this my charge was about 10% i decided to turn it off
and let it charge to 100% now my question is....
I read the manual a little late it said in the manual that i need to charge the 3ds BEFORE USE
well i didnt do this =/ will it reduce my battery or effect it anyway now?
@mar3dsnl Even if it did have an effect on battery levels, no use in worrying about it now, it's done. Just forget it and enjoy it and you'll never know any different.
PS. DS games apparently use less battery than 3DS games, fwiw.
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
It's a New 3DS right? If I'm not mistaken you have access to the battery itself. I assume the worst case scenario would be you could just buy a new one and stick it in.
@mar3dsnl I don't know why they still mention that stuff in manuals. It was true to an extent in older types of batteries. But the 3DS uses Lithium-ion batteries, so you should be fine; the difference won't be noticeable. I mean, if you're really worried you can read into the Solid-Electrolyte Interphase of Lithium-ion batteries and how they may improve performance. But by the time you're done you could've finished 20 games. So don't worry about it and just enjoy your games.

This is true from my experience. The DS game that's had the most exercise on my 3DS is Black 2, and the battery indeed seemed to last longer.
@mar3dsnl: I think it'll be fine. I understand your worries, though. I just keep telling myself not to worry about something until said problem actually happens. I'd be way more concerned if your system didn't hardly hold a charge at all. (And to be honest, the battery the 3DS ships with doesn't hold an insanely long charges anyway.) My original 3DS has been in use for four years, and a normal charge lasts about 3-4 hours depending on what I've been doing on the system. Since you have a New 3DS, I would expect the battery to last a bit longer.
