@VanillaLake Don't worry, it doesn't transfer to the 4GB micro SD card. This is shown by at Step 13 (2:57), you have to copy the 3DS folder from your standard SD card and then you have to copy that folder onto your micro SD card.

Yep, I've watched that video around 6 times LOL. Fortunately, the video is pleasant to watch and hear. I know the guy is doing the same thing I want to do except that he copies the files using a PC after the transfer and I have already copied those files.

If I am not wrong,
1. He starts the transfer.
2. New Nintendo 3DS erases the micro SD content.
3. Minute 2:12 "The chosen method will be used to transfer SD Card data".
4. He copies the files from the SD card to the micro SD using a computer.
5. He puts the micro SD card in the New Nintendo 3DS.

I have already copied the files to the micro SD card I'm going to use in my New Nintendo 3DS. If I put that micro SD card in the New Nintendo 3DS before the transfer, its content will be erased and I'll have to copy the files again. If I put that micro SD card in after the transfer, it won't be erased by the system transfer but I'm not sure if it will miss some transfer content. It's minute 2:12 what I consider somehow ambiguous. Besides, that part is cut to make it shorter so I can't know for sure what content is being transferred. It says Nintendo 3DS Camera (1/5), Nintendo 3DS Sound (2/5), and after that the three other parts are cut.

As you've already copied the files to the micro SD card you want in the New 3DS, you need to choose "No" at Step 8 (1:55).

I got a question. Like if I choose wireless transfer and if the new 3DS doesn't have enough space to like get all the data from the source 3ds XL, then does that mean that all my game stuff would be gone or something?

Also this is probably stupid to ask but how much is 4,000 blocks? Is it 4GB or less than that cause I can't figure out the block usage here. Another one of those Nintendolators......

You have the option to wirelessly transfer only the save data from your source 3DS's download games, and redownload the games later.

8 blocks = 1MB, so 4,000 blocks is roughly 0.5GB.

Definitely not. I've heard the XL charging cradles don't work for the new model. There is just enough slight differences I would wait and see what the new models get first. See if your Gamestop has a used one of any kind to see if it will snap on just in case.

The custom plates are for the normal size New 3DS only.

Thanks, the guide that Nintendo Life has published a little while ago says "We suggest that prior to starting and booting up the New 3DS you place your new micro-SDHC (if you're not using the 4GB card that comes with the system) in the console. You unscrew the back and slide it in the slot. This isn't essential - we swapped out the micro-SDHC with a 32GB capacity card later in the process - but it's perhaps an extra fail-safe worth completing". That is exactly what I was asking...

It still wouldn't fit because it was made for the regular 3DS. >.>

You all need to go back to bed. If you read the post, she only wants to put the top piece on, not the bottom piece, which obviously won't fit.

Why would I need to since I said it definitely won't fit. All I said afterwords is she could try as the top part of the New XL is almost exactly like the old version.

@nacho_chicken Well the only thing Gamestop will be refunding is the shipping charge so they can totally afford to screw it up unfortunately

@nacho_chicken MH4U system yes 1 day shipping no. I already spent like 243$ I wasn't about to cough up another 17$ for shipping. Plus a new memory card is another 30$. I was just hoping knowing I got standard shipping it would be shipped out no later then today. It not being a major holiday or anything hoping for it to arrive by Saturday at the latest. Even if Majoras Mask arrives ahead of the New 3ds I don't want to play it on anything but my New 3ds.
