...About the 3DS in general, anybody know where exactly the system saves the games and savedata at? Really don't wanna have to redownload all of my games again if my Micro doesn't make it in before Friday.
Why not just wait for the Micro SD Card then?
...Because I'm trading in my older system the next day after I buy the New 3DS, If it doesn't come in I'm stuck with a 4GB card, which is nowhere near enough to hold all of my digital games. (especially since I'm also getting MH4U) Really don't want to lose save data for games like Smash or Rune Factory 4.
How are you doing the system transfer without your system?
My Gamestop is allowing me to trade in my old system towards the New 3DS the next day so I can do the transfer.

And they won't let you wait for the Micro SD card?
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

But you can't wait until the Micro SD card arrives, then go down and get your New 3DS and then do the transfer?

It looks like you'll have to do a low capacity transfer. It'll preserve your saves, but you'll have to redownload your games when your card comes in.
Formally called brewsky before becoming the lovable, adorable Yoshi.
Now playing:
Final Fantasy XIV (PC) | The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (Switch) | Celeste (Switch)

Guess I can deal with that, then. Just wanted to make sure there was something like, hopefully my card will be in soon, I just get worried too easily, lol. (even if there's something wrong going on with Amazon's tracking. >.>)

I hope I won't regret that I purchased a new Japanese New 3DS "small".
Isn't the US XL cheaper than that for some reason?
Well, I'll probably skip that because odds are Nintendo will release another full successor in a couple years anyways so I'll wait on that for maybe playing NA N3DS games.
It's extremely doubtful Nintendo will backpedal on region-locking even if they themselves said it's an outdated practice.
Ok, I think there's just one more thing I'm slightly concerned about, otherwise I should be ready for the transfer. Would Gamestop have the required screwdriver in-store, or should I seek one out? I'm not sure if they'd need one at the store for anything unless they take things apart regularly or do small repairs/cleaning.
Uggh, why do so many people think this will happen. Personally I would love it just for the 3d alone but I think a full on HD treatment will do the game far more justice. Make it happen Nintendo.
@TeeJay That video was Waveboy's he posted a few pages back now because of all this transfer talk.
@Brewsky You had far more patience then I would've yesterday explaining over and over and over again basically the same thing.
Hey, I am thinking... If I use the original 4GB micro SD during the transfer and when the system tells me to copy the files to the micro SD card using my PC and instead of that I put the bigger micro SD in the New 3DS with the files already copied, I think that that bigger micro SD will be missing the information transferred from the 3DS to the New 3DS during the systems transfer, because that information was stored on the original micro SD card during the transfer. If that makes sense.
Just stop thinking about it. Simply do as the system says. The microSD card in your New 3DS is completely erased during the transfer, as it should be. The transfer doesn't write important information the microSD card in your New 3DS, it rewrites the data on your SD card in your old 3DS that make it work with the New 3DS. Those files, along with everything else, get moved when you move everything from your old SD card to your microSD card. That's what makes it work.
EDIT: Didn't mean to come off as rude if it seems like it.
No worries. My question is because on minute 2:12, the video says "The chosen method will be used to transfer SD Card data". That data is going to be transferred to the original 4 GB micro SD card and not to the 32 GB micro SD card that already has the files copied and is going to be put in the New Nintendo 3DS after the transfer process.
I really don't like the navigation bar of Nintendo Life continuously reappearing while browsing!!

To me, right? I'm glad I didn't ask you then. Anyway, it's not exactly the same thing I was asking each time and the process is quite complex unless you choose the wireless option (that could take hours or days) or you are using the same micro SD card in both systems. It's Nintendo's fault that this is so unnatural to do and it's thanks to some kind people we get the answers to our questions. I'm grateful for that.
