I think this would be the best possible thing to happen to the 3DS. The Circle Pad Pro would actually give it more control options than the PSVita. I mean, it won't make people that play console FPSs with the 360 and PS3 want to buy a 3DS (they'll most likely still go for the Vita), but it would be a huge revolution in handheld gaming.
And just because this area of debate is bound to come up anyway... I have Call of Duty on the Wii (CoD 3) and it is great. The graphics may not be up to par with the competition, but it is still amazing! I have noticed that the 3DS can pull off graphics that are just as good if not better than the Wii, so a FPS on the 3DS wouldn't look that bad either.
If this ever does happen though (a FPS on 3DS with CPP), I have one request. Don't use the touchscreen for anything. Have it be a radar or something, With all the buttons, you don't need the touchscreen to do double duty. Just use it to take all of the clutter off of the top screen (ammo, radar, etc).
What do you think?
I own a PS1, GBA, GBA SP, Wii (GCN), 360, 3DS, PC (Laptop), Wii U, and PS4.
I used to own a GBC, PS2, and DS Lite

Sorry, what? The PS Vita has dual analog sticks on it. And none of them need to be bought and bunged on to the handheld via a hideous extra peripheral (cough, cough).
Not to hate on anything or whatever, but really, FPS's on the 3DS aren't exactly the brightest idea, looking at it from a distance. There's a reason nobody has tried this during the 9 months the handheld's been out, and for obvious reason too. To take a random example, Call of Duty being announced for Vita is not because of perceived hardcore gaming nepotism, but rather because of its more befitting image on it.

The only thing it has on the Vita is an extra set of shoulder buttons. Yet the vita has 2 multi-tocuh touchscreens,.

You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
2 analogs are definitely better than 1 for FPS games, other than golden eye on N64 most controlled pretty badly even trying to map the controls to a golden eye like set up didn't always help, haven't tried touch screen for FPS though so can't tell if that'd be any good but pretty sceptical about FPS on 3DS over all.
in cant imagine playing FPS on the 3DS because it simply isnt powerful enough. /shrug
The power of the 3DS exceeds that of the Wii, and even the Wii has quite a few FPS's. It's more of a problem of console design that doesn't fit the image of an FPS on the 3DS.

crap wii style fps graphics on a tiny little screen ... no thanks ... i will stick with halo & killzone on my 360 / PS3 ... tbh wouldnt even play FPS on my future vita.
@SimonB97 - Crap Wii-style graphics on the 3DS? I know it's not an FPS, but have you even seen Resident Evil: Revelations yet? Bloomin' amazing graphics. Plus, seeing as you're that interested in graphics, the Vita's are HD, despite being a handheld... so you probably will want to try one on it _some_day.

@gamelord08 i believe FPS should be played on a bigtv with a console thats powerful enough do em justice (the wii technically wasn't good enough) ... whats wrong with that?... i will not be playing FPS on my 3ds/vita when i can get a better experience on consoles ... (the wiiu with its motion controller & 360ish graphics /drools)
I don't mind the use of the Circle Pad Pro for 3DS FPS games, and think it would be a good. They have to have stylus control options though for aiming with the option of using the CPP. MPH has solid controls, and I don't want to see them go away.

No, that's the CoD games. Besides, the discussion here is controls -_-'
u wont get many fps on the 3ds anyway because they work best on consoles (& the game devs know it) but if i had 2 choose the best control method it would be that CPP addon.
so far im reading opinions and not facts FPS can work on any device providing it has the buttons and so forth and so far the current handhelds providing so far can do that
