The soundtrack is very good. It ranks up there with Mega Man 9 and 10, in my opinion.

Mutant Mudds. Seems like they ripped the graphics from Earthbound (2nd favorite game BTW) and added old-school platforming at its finest. I want this game so bad.

I run a YouTube/Twitch channel for fun. Check me out if you want to!

I am looking forward to this one. From what I have seen, I like the old school feel of it. It kind of reminds me of those old Duke Nukem 2d sidescrollers that came out for the pc, in the early 90's I think.

I just hope Nintendo doesn't drag its feet when it comes to releasing this for the PAL regions.

I loved Duke Nukem! I also remember there was another series on the computer with a kid in a football helmet fighting aliens which was awesome also. Those were shareware games or something where you would get a free trial download and there was a message that if you liked it to buy the full version. I agree that Mudds reminds me of these type of games. Really feels like your supporting a small time developer again downlaoding Mudds. Looks like a fun game.

So got the game, here's my thoughts. Right from the start, you can tell that the game is a no BS, straight-up retro platformer Collect-a-thon. The graphics are charming, the Chiptunes are catchy, and the gameplay is tight while offering a decent challenge. Also, got to love those throwback bonus levels. It has everything that makes a good S/NEs game and I am happy Jools finally made his perfect game. Dementiun and Moon were good, but they were clearly flawed, this game however, has no apparent ones. Will play more of it later.

I'm going through a no-death run right now. 33 Water Sprites and still no death yet. Here's hoping I can finally get all the way through it.

I'm 3 hours in and only a bit over halfway through. The game looks, sounds, and feels like a great Game Boy from back in the day. The game is tight, and the levels are great. I definitely see myself replaying this a lot.

I have to hand it to Renegade Kid, this is by far the best thing on the e-shop right now. And that's not faint praise, the e-shop has some great stuff.

This is now my new favorite 3DS game ever. It has everything I love about retro games: "12-bit" graphics, 8-bit chiptunes, simple controls, challenging levels, brilliant level design.

I'm stuck though. How do you get to the SPOILER G-Land bonus stage in Level 2-2? SPOILER

^If it's the level I'm thinking of, you might need the final upgrade.

I finished the game with a bit over 5 hours, and I'm good at platformers. The game managed to remain fun the whole way through, and I know it will hold up on repeated playthroughs. Thanks for this, Renegade Kid! We need more games like this out there!

I'll hopefully be getting this game today.

If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.

I haven't found much free time to play this for more than an hour or so total, but I love it! I've been looking forward to it and it hasn't disappointed. The opening really took me back to my days of playing NES games, the music is great, the graphics and 3D effects are great, and it's tough as nails. I am currently going through the main stages collecting the 100 diamonds in each, and am then going to go back for the V- and G-Land stages.

I think I might try to terminate my account. I'm not cut out for posting on forums lol

This game is made of awesomeness. I'd love it for the main character's design alone, with his black-rimmed glasses and floppy hair. The graphics, the music, the gameplay — all of it screams retro-glory.

I've just finished the main 16 levels and collected the 100 little shinies in each, have unlocked the SPOILER stages and still need to beat a few of the V and G stages. This is one of those games that it's going to suck to finally complete, because it'll be sad for there to be no more awesomeness to play!

She-Ra is awesome. If you believe otherwise, you are clearly wrong.
Urban Champion is GLORIOUS.

Wow. I love this game. Easily my favorite eShop title so far. The game reminds me of Earthbound (meteor hitting Earth, up to an Earthbound-like character to save the day on his own) in visuals and fun.

So far, after three hours and forty minutes, I just need four more Water Sprites! Thank god for an Activity Log to record your time playing. After I beat the game, I'm going back and start speedruning this game, Super Metroid-style (minus the sequence breaking).

I'm about to record my no-death run for all 40 sprites. I finally did it this morning for the first time. Usually I can get around 33 of them without dying, but a few of those secret levels are tricky at times. I'll post the time it takes to no-death the game. I'm curious how fast that will go.

Dude!! Corbs, that is intense! How are you documenting this no-death run? How many hours have you clocked so far?

I consider myself a fairly adept old-school gamer, but the game is not so easy. It's not bit.trip or meat boy hard (yet... i'm not finished), but no deaths?? Never a prick of spike or scorch of lava? You are deserving of you avatar picture, sir.

Also, I agree with others in this thread- best 3DSware yet! The retro chiptune soundtrack, super crisp "deep" 2D visuals, and streamlined classic gameplay make me very, very happy. Maybe the sequel can include a level editor with QR codes, a la Pushmo.

I almost never say this, but I really hope this game is selling well. It's brilliant and deserves and even bigger, better, or level-editor-including sequel. The developers have done a truly excellent job here.

Right now I just need to complete the final 5 hidden levels. Some of those were downright brutal. I think I'm going to see that bomb-dropping pig thing in my sleep.
