If you're hitting the monster's head with your pound...don't feel bad if someone is launched. Maybe apologize once or twice when it happens but if an idiot who isn't using a blunt weapon gets in your way all the time because they think they have to hit the head launch them one or two times more. "accidentally" of course.
Conversely, please do not do this if you're wailing on the monster's torso, legs, or tail and getting tripped by a dps weapon. We see. We remember.
Phew that was a lot of hunting. I ended up ranking up to 2.
The randoms were not bad at all, well there was one French person who only said "go!" whenever he posted a mission and people took more than a second to prepare. But other than that it was pretty pleasant.
Be careful if you see a sword and shield user with the green oil tho. They're pretty good at KOing as well and as long as they're not too obnoxious pretty easy to deal with as hammer/hh user.
And chargeblade can snipe KOs from behind you as well. (if they're..not too obnoxious...feels like that goes for everything in monhan XD)
Actually, the green oil is the Destroyer oil which is the same as the skill Partbreaker, breaks parts easier as well as causing more flinches/trips. The KO/Exhaust oil is blue.
The Hunting Horn's superpound is actually not that powerful when it comes to KOing... it, like most of the horn's moves is better suited to exhausting. Your best bet for that knockout is actually just consistent use of the X moves and standing A, with the occasional standing X+A as the finisher; if the monster is incapacitated, use alternating standing X and A.
Honestly I've had more problems with SA users screwing around with the Axe mode than LS users tripping people up.
THANK. You. Sometimes I swear hammer and horn users go out of their way to launch me into the air just 'cause I'm playing LS.
Same thing seems to happen to me... and I'm a non-Switch Sword main, even; the amount of times they'll even SEE me in axe mode per quest can be counted on one hand, much less actually attacking with it.
For real, SA seems like the CB of this game... had a room full of SA users yesterday.
And on the topic of Hunting Horns, I've had the pleasure if playing with a couple decent HH mains. As in, they're actually fighting the monster and getting the occasional KO, compared to just standing at the edge of the area and playing music.

You'd think it'd be the Sword & Shield taking up the "easy-to-use, do-everything" mantle, with it's free skill oils and awesome arts to go with a Striker style that only removes a relatively obscure move (the back step). But no, it's STILL unpopular. What does it take to make people like this weapon?!
...Then again, I suppose Switch Sword is even easier.
Sword and Shield just feels kinda bad IMO. It doesn't have the heft of the offensive blademaster weapons, nor the solid defense of the charge blade and lances.
Sword & Shield are weapons I usually like using in MH, being able to apply element fast like the Dual Blades is nice and it's naturally one of the easier weapons to do mounting in 4 Ultimate/Guild Style in Generations. The new oils make it much more efficient at hunting since I've been getting some pretty fast clear times and my current Sword & Shield doesn't even have element yet. If anything, the weapon is overall fun to use since the shield can help you when you can't dodge and being able to use items without having to sheath your weapon. I've been going with Aerial Style for the SnS btw, it's very fun lol.
Last time I used the Sword and Shield was in MHtri where I couldn't use the hunting horn at all.
There was this hunt where it took like 49 minutes to kill a Great Baggi because the blade constantly went dull and every hit bounced and it was a nightmare.
lol thx xD @Tsurii , I have been trying to work on my placement so I don't knock peeps around but I'm a bit of an air head at times xD. Taking a little longer than I thought so ill prob need another 15min
