...Well...my Apex Rajang urgent showed up again. Gonna save it until I can get around to going online with the game. I think I just got lucky when I managed to kill it by myself in the normal quest, so...yeah. >.>

Keep it PG-13-ish.
@Haru17
Well considering how potentially OP (and flashy) the hunter can be, I don't see it as much of a surprise.
And yea 3U in my opinion was nice progression as well. Didn't play much of Freedom Unite, but the original Monster Hunter (Freedom) was an absolute pain (still sorta fun) compared to the current status of the series. I also liked the sometimes annoying, but different, water combat.

Thats not really it.
I mean, X IS pretty easy, but not in that way. Well, except the aerial mode. Or as I like to call it, "You aint so special now stick boy!" mode.
The monsters are actually a lot more... flexible than they were before, in both move set variety, usage of arena space, and AI... And thats saying a fair bit, since 4 was a big leap in this as well (although I still feel 4's is the more pronounced leap in comparison to past titles, easily). So its not just the hunter that got a leg up, while the monsters stayed the same. It's actually very engaging, your minds always busy, even if you don't feel super pressured by the monster very often.
Its more... That the game stops at high level. And lets face it, once you are past your first MH title, while its still fun, nothing really feels like a challenge again until you step out into that first g rank quest with what used to be your super badarse high level armor.... that is now effectively for all intents and purposes a vest made out of bacon.
I've made it to HR7, so I'm getting close to joining you guys in the G ranks. I'm making quick progress since I'm skipping the advanced quests until I obtain better armour.
@LasermasterA I've done everything solo so far. I'll have a try with Dalamadur solo, and if I get stuck then I'll ask some friends or people here for help.
Once I reach G rank, then I'll probably try to get much more involved in the multiplayer side of this game.
...So who's alive tonight? Gonna go eat dinner...have a snack and all that. After I finish this quest I'm in I'd like to go online and see if we can finish up all of my online quests that haven't been done yet. (not counting events, obviously)
Just got 4 to deal with...
@crimsontadpoles
Nice. I was a bit tired of soloing MH3U so I sorta rushed the guild till G-rank online in 4U....
I really don't think you will be to solo Dalamadur with HR gear that easily since that thing is technically easy, but has a huge amount of HP. Be ready for a 40 minute quest!
Apex monsters are a real pain alright, solo. I mean one can kill them super quickly, but that requires a lot of practice.
I find Apex Diablos Event quest a nice way to get normal Zeniths and the occasional Larges. I can solo Apex Rajang, but he can be stressful. Gotta keep whacking those arms and tail. Tigrex, and Zinogre are plain annoying.
I really don't fight the other Apexes.
Nintendo fan, with a taste for all genres! Monster Hunter for the win!
@Tsurii
Apex are a love/hate case. They can be quite rewarding to solo since they are the "ultimate" challenge of 4U, apart from the lvl 140 GQ monsters.
I love Zin myself as well, but his Apex version is really really annoying. The insta-paralyze red orbs, weird softzones, and his "super-ultra-can't-let-you-react-combo-you-to-death" nature. The speed buff that all monsters got in this game really annoys me here. Same with Tigrex. Charge, charge, charge, spin charge, roar - dead hunter (managed to avoid 1-2 charges xD). Although Charge Blade makes the latter easier to handle.
Have you soloed these 2 apexes yet?
Rajang is actually not that tough. That thing dies quick. I had difficulties but trying to beat the buffed Rajang for my GX Hunter Arms, really helped me learn him, sorta. Just carry Tremor Res, and stick to his tail/behind and he's a goner. Half of the time after he creates a Tremor, or during his lightning beam there is an opening. Just forget about his horns though if you want it easy xD
Just go for the tail or arms with a brace stone and the Apex should be gone super quick. Since all his hitzone values are 45 or above, Tenderizer gives you upto a 11% damage boost, wherever you hit him!
@Tsurii
Well I guess it is the combination of the speed and their new hardly ever tiring nature.
I guess I have not experienced the Freedom Unite Rajang (never reached that stage), that's why I don't mind him in 4U after tons of experience xD
You can solo Apex Tigrex without it touching you at all? Nice! Unless you meant normal Tigrex -_- The latter is easy with Insect Glaive, and chump change with an Impact Phial Charge blade. He literally comes and stuns himself on my weapon!
And i didn't say random soft spots. I meant weird location of his spots. The soft spots are fixed i.e his main body, and the tail but those two spots are hard to reach when he is Apex anyway since he is jumping around the whole time! And I hit the legs by accident, then bounce. And only a part of the tail is soft. Orbs are easily avoided as well, but he is chasing you and sending more orbs all the time >.< Maybe I am just bad with Apex Zin. I found Jang easier, seriously. Atleast he dies quick.
@Haru17
Well his biggest weakness is Pitfall Trap when enraged. He stays in there forever!
Silver Rathalos does far too much damage to me. I was about to go off and grind for slightly better armour, but then I noticed that I had all the required materials for Powertalon and Armortalon. Hopefully those items will help me reach G rank, since I'm trying to avoid upgrading my armour until I can access G rank materials.
