If it is so easy to navigate, then someone can find this "new feature" from Thursday and tell us what it is.... I didn't see anything.

I can't as I don't have internet access.

Just as you, I have no clue what they're talking about.

So we have
Wi-fi connection
3D visuals
Local play
Streetpass
Spotpass
Download play

So the only new thing in the game I see is that the customization have a way bigger impact then I thought before.

It almost looks like you have the game

But cool how there's a parachute in place of a glider. Hope Nintendo throws in DLC items for new parts and the like. And patch the game up in case of them "exploits" of cheapness

Patches to do anything other than fix bugs in a racing game would not work. You need time trials and other records to be consistent, and no matter if something is "cheap" or not, changing anything that affects the game can potentially invalidate previous records.

For similar reasons, I don't know that I'd personally want DLC kart parts. It wouldn't ruin old records, but every time a new part is added, if it's worth using, you are going to have to rethink all your old times. For some that might just mean "Replay value!" but I'm not sure I'd like to spend hours perfecting a race only to have Nintendo say, "Here's a new part that is slightly faster than this part" and have to redo it to stay competitive.

DLC for new tracks though... that would be fantastic. Doubt it'll happen though. Wouldn't be surprised if they have internet-accessible missions like MKW, and that was a nice addition.

Yeah, I'm hoping for new tracks at least...maybe some characters as well.

New DLC tracks would be amazing. But think of it: Maybe some people don't want to update and still want to have the old tracks, and go online, so what then? Do you get someone with the same tracks? Or do they automatically update? Or do we get a new cup or what else? I'm confused by myself now.. xD

@Terave Simple. Make it a mandatory update that updates while you're connecting online or soomething, maybe? (this is, of course, assuming it's free)

I don't know the technical details of online match making beyond "you search for a game at the same time, you get put in the same game", but I would imagine it wouldn't be too difficult to let you race only with people who don't have the DLC tracks.

The other option is that it lets you play on them, similar to how you can race online in courses from cups you haven't unlocked yet, you just won't have the option to race on them in Grand Prix or local multiplayer.

Reggie4Life

sgt_ludby and rob92, you read my mind. Missions would be amazing if they put in enough work, and bomb-omb battles (local, online,or with cpus) would blow me away and make this a first day purchase for me.

You don't need the new maps. Halo Matchmaking only allows for you to play all game types expect the DLC one. any other gametype you get a warning you might not have all the maps. the matchmaking is still the same but the group can only play non DLC maps.

None of this DLC garbage. And of course they would charge for it. Otherwise, they would have no reason to make it. DLC is just a way to make more money.

MKW's online missions were free. Not the same kind of DLC these folk are talking about, but it is a channel that you download which temporarily downloads stuff.

Sure but it's also a great reason to come back to the game. It's not a scam all of the time and in most cases it's to help keep the community happy and to provide replay value. What Nintendo doesn't finish with Mario Kart 7 (like track ideas, kart parts, characters, etc.), can be easily portioned as DLC. Three months after MK7's release we get DLC packs of tracks from previous installments of the franchise with a few bonus extras such as new parts for our karts that look really cool. Nothing game changing.

Just for you.

DLC would be pretty good as long as its not already on the cart but I doubt Nintendo would be like that. It would be even better if it was free like the DLC in MKW but if it is paid I hope its pretty cheap.

SamuraiShyGuy

True, but Nintendo fans don't need DLC to keep playing Mario Kart. I still play Mario Kart Wii. With that said, I wouldn't get my hopes up for DLC anyways. When has Nintendo ever released DLC in the past?
