I think Neo Bowser City is my new favorite track. I hated it at first but it's so much fun to drift through.
Same for me The entire Star Cup has all my Favorite tracks
Anyone else always pick Wii tracks oline at first? I always need to get my Maple Treeway fix XD
And it's pure torture getting 3 stars on 150cc cups! It's always the last tracks that I get 2nd or 3rd lol But, it's weird that I already got 3 stars on all retro cups o.O scratches head
Those were some hilariously awesome matches Adam. I lol'd IRL when you showed up at the finish line in Kalimari Desert. That was probably the best run of matches I've ever had online.
I'll be gone all day tomorrow but we need to race some more over the weekend.
Almost every race was very close, but that one took the cake, haha. Fun games. I will probably be online Sunday until midafternoon.

Same here. Somehow the retro cups are all easier than the new courses.
1. New character roster. I like Lakitu (he's even one of my favorite characters now) but M. Mario, Wiggler and... ugh... Honey Queen?? I seriously wonder what Nintendo was thinking. I can sorta understand M. Mario and Wiggler, but no one wants to play as Honey Queen. To this day I haven't seen a single person choose her online.
2. Maka Wuhu. Not only did they have to put Wuhu Island in as a race course, but TWO race courses!? AND A BATTLE TRACK? I haven't even gotten to my main complaint yet. In almost every online race I've been in recently, there's at least one douche noob that picks Maka Wuhu just because they they think they're SOOO smart for knowing about a massive shortcut. Well guess what? Everyone else knows about it and they will still beat you. They just don't pick it because they've moved on and want to actually go on a different track.
3. No single player vs. Would it have been so bad to put that simple option in? It seems so random that the developers would not have it be in the game. I want answers! I want to race 150cc bots on Rainbow Road without having to go through that Donkey Kong track first!
4. The new Rainbow Road. I may have just been spoiled by the DS and Wii versions, but the Rainbow Road in MK7 just seems to not uphold that fast-paced, heart pounding roller coaster ride reputation set by the previous entries. Make no mistake, it still is one of my favorite tracks in the game, and it is certainly the prittiest Rainbow Road yet, with the best music in a while, but I just don't feel the adrenaline I got from Wii. (they did however put in the astounding snes Rainbow Road, so why am I complaining?)
Everyone complaining about "always" getting hit by the blue shell, I honestly think that's just selective perception. In the 250+ races I've played (both online and offline), I could count all the times I got hit by the blue shell within 2 seconds of ("inches" before) the finish line on one hand. I get blue shelled in the second half of the last lap less than 15% of the time. Even on 150cc I rarely see more than two blues in a race. I think MKW just made everyone completely and unconditionally hate blue shells, which I understand, but people seem to be forgetting when the blue shell was actually a perfectly good and useful item (MK64 anyone?) IMO MK7 is trying to bring some of that back. In at least a quarter of the races I've played there wasn't a single blue shell, and in 90% of the remaining races there are either 1 or 2. I have yet to see more than 3 blues in one race. It's not just blue shells either. Take thunderbolts for example. On 150cc I rarely see more than 1 or 2 thunderbolts in one race and 2 thunderbolts is already fairly uncommon. Powerful items like stars and bullet bills are much less common than in MKW (instead 8th gets ridiculous items like single green shells and bananas.) Again I think the complaints about getting hit with 5 items in a row are just selective perception or really bad luck; I have horrible luck online so I know what really bad luck is like. WARNING: Skip the next paragraph if you hate fractions! You have been warned! Going back to blue shells, in offline mode I'm not even in first place 10% of the time when a blue shell is launched. Two thirds of the other 90% of the time, I take care of the shell by dropping into 2nd (the only time I don't do that is if I notice too late or don't notice that someone has a blue, or if I have a mushroom.) Half of the remaining 30%, I just dodge the shell with a mushroom. Finally, in a fifth of the remaining 15%, either the shell hits 2nd or 3rd on its way to me or I am able to take at least one other player down with me. This means that only 12% of the blue shells launched actually hit me without hitting anyone else, and usually I get back to 1st rather quickly. In summary: blue shells are virtually nothing for me. BTW @SimmerE15 did you look at the official websites? One of the clips shows that shortcut; I almost always use it. I just realized that this post is already ridiculously long, so I'll just shut up now even though I had more to say.

I got hit with a blue shell just before the finish line and I still came in first. ...or did I see a blue shell coming at me and I crossed the finish line just in time? Either way, point is blue shells aren't a problem for me. Maybe I'm just lucky.
Lol, I have never finished a race by getting hit with a blue, but one time I finished a race by getting hit with a red shell. Like, the shell was coming, I had nothing to block it with, and it hit me like half a second before the finish so that I flipped over to just barely touch the finish line, and the game registered it as finishing the race.

Hurrah, someone understands my pain over the lack of single player versus.
And one thing I've hated in all online Mario Karts is when people keep choosing the same course again and again. As in they pick a course, it gets selected, we race, then they select it again. Somehow it gets picked again within the next few races, and they pick it yet again. I crave variety!
On a more positive note, I had juuust driven off a ledge on a Wuhu course, when a blue shell hit me and I flipped up and to the left, back on the road. Amazing.

I very often get hit by a blue shell in the latter half of the last lap, which is often just as bad as being hit inches away. It's not enough time to catch up in most cases. Being hit by several items in a row when you're in first is common because you get hit by one guy, who passes you up, then the next guy comes by and foolishly targets you instead because people are dumb, and each person who passes you up will have better items than the last guy due to being further back in the ranks.
I don't have the game yet, but I have a question for you guys. When I look on my Friends List, and see that you're playing it says something like "Racing online VR 2392". I'm curious. What does VR 2392 mean? Here's a picture of it.

VR is your collective online score, of sorts. By default it is 1000, and it rises when games are won. 30 points are lost from a disconnect, and 3 or so are lost from getting last. It's really hard to lose VR this time around. VR can go over 10,000, unlike previous entries with a 9,999 cap.
Just finished getting 3 stars on every cup today, and have thus started an Item Usage FAQ on my site. A new item every few days! But now I'm not sure what item to do next. Only entry so far is Banana Peels. Anyone want to suggest what item I should write about next?
Also, I always thought single player VS was kinda boring, so I'm not too dissapointed about that
Anyone notice the problem here?

Oops, did I say that? lol I don't know why I said it was boring... maybe I was referring to MK64 because I thought that one was pretty dull. Either way though, it is very odd that they took the mode out of MK7.
Whats a good way to get coins? Takes so long to get 200. Earlier today, i was playing online, someone got hit with a bomb-omb i threw, a blue shell and a red shell at the same time. Hahaha

Try getting a three-star ranking in every cup in every difficulty. It's honestly not that hard if you were already good at Mario Kart Wii.
