I'm not sure which one to get, any want to recommend which one to get or explain what the major differences between them are?

I like both of them. I would recommend Mario & Donkey Kong only because it has Wi-Fi stuff where you can get community made levels. Mario vs Donkey Kong does not so what you have is all you get, plus I got Mario vs Donkey Kong as my end of the year Club Nintendo gift... which means you can probably do the same.

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Thanks for the help, I'm probably gonna get Mini On The Moves! Also I'm in the UK so I can't get Mario vs DK as a Club Nintendo gift.

I am a huge fan of this series and have every title in it. I would say if you're looking to get into the series itself (as in, have an interest in playing other games in the series as well) then Minis March Again is probably your best bet, as the rest of the games in the series (aside from Donkey Kong for GameBoy and Mario vs. Donkey Kong for GameBoy Advance) follow that style. The upcoming Wii U Mario vs. Donkey Kong game also follows that style.

Having said that, the Wii U version looks like it will have features from BOTH Mario vs. Donkey Kong Minis on the Move AND Miniland Mayhem, meaning you will essentially be getting the same experience from THAT game. In which case, it may be best to go with Minis on the Move, since it offers a unique experience different from the main series. In that case, if you own a Wii U, it may be a better decision to get Minis on the Move, and just hold out for the Wii U Mario vs. Donkey Kong game.

On a final note, if you want to see the roots of the series, the GameBoy game Donkey Kong is also an a great game that I highly recommend trying out. the GameBoy Advances Mario vs. Donkey Kong is also pretty good, but may be my least favourite titles in the entire Mario vs. Donkey Kong series.

Hope that helps somewhat!
