@Rayword45 Well, Sakurai was director, so its all up to him. BTW I'm pretty sure you know what he said about a sequel. Not from him. Sakurai won't make a KI:U sequel. So, sure have another studio do it, but it won't have the Sakurai charm we all know and love.

Speaking of Sakurai, imagine how SSB4 will be on the Wii U. Around 250 GB per disc I think. [Correct me if I'm wrong on that] Think of the field day Sakurai will have jamming the disc full.

@Happy_Mask What is this homework you speak of? I already have a job, guarding the master emerald. I mean sure, it doesn't pay well, long hours _{read 24/7} no real change in scenery, etc. But hey, I can use the power to become Hyper Knuckles, and I get to kick Robotnik's butt again when Sonic 4: Episode 3 comes out. Plot: Master Emerald stolen, Play as Sonic, Tails or Knuckles to get it back. At least, this is my version of the game.

Edit: @Gamecubeman I'm pretty sure it said Dark Pit was nothing, not himself, not doing anything.

@Knuckles Subtract a 0 from 250 and you're right on, to my knowledge. And I believe dual layer would be 50 GB. But I'm not sure.

He said no sequel about Melee. And he wouldn't need to be there for a map pack. Look up "New Super Mario Bros The Next Levels" for Wii. If a dedicated fan can do THAT, I'm sure someone who worked on the game can toss in maybe 5 more maps to add a bit of variety. This is all just wishful thinking, but I wouldn't complain for more then the default 12 stages.

And even if we don't get the Sakurai charm, I'd still have high hopes for a sequel, or preferably a prequel. I'd kill for more of the story on Magnus/Gaol and maybe toss in a bit of Dark Pit or the 25 year gap in there.

Just because Melee had a sequel DOES NOT GUARANTEE KIU will have a sequel.

It doesn't guarantee it, but to outright dismiss it is not referring to some decent evidence.

I'm not expecting anything, but it'd be a mistake to outright say "Nope. Not gonna happen, Goodbye to Pit forever."

Okay, so @Dash Is corrrect about the whole Project SORA and everything. I believe as well we will not recieve a sequel. Those were Sakurai's words right? Well, he never said he wouldn't make another Kid Icarus. Just no Uprising sequel. I can see another game released eventually that changes things up, letting you control Dark Pit, Magnus, or maybe some new hero. I could also see Something like a prequel, with Pit and Palutena. They could be going on a mission and it goes wrong. However much I'd like these; it's very unlikely. At least not on the limited 3DS cartridges. This game is jam packed full of goodies, why do you think it's not available for DL? It would cover practically the whole SD card!
I can honestly say that I feel there will be no direct sequel to kid Icarus Uprising. It is also too late for DLC, it's been 9 1/4 Months or so. :3

@Everyone We need a serious talk about this thread. I don't care how of topic we are, seriously its been over 9 months. If I had a problem, then A) I'm a hypocrite and B) I'm terrible at keeping this thread on track. Anyway, like @Prof_Clayton has said, meaning we should only have 3 months left of Spotpass Weapons.

Reasons I believe this? When ever Ninty releases free anything its for a year. Examples: DQIV free quests for a year, Prof Layton, free puzzles for a year, so, it makes sense, free spotpass weapons for a year.

Now, I never thought this thread would take off and become the most popular 3DS thread on NL in 2012, but I'm not going to try to keep it alive after the last spotpass weapon comes out, if it is on March 23rd 2013. I'll stay around, be here like I am now, but I won't try to keep it alive.
If we do get spotpass weapons after March 23rd 2013, great! I'll stay here as long as the spotpass weapons keep on coming.

Keep it alive. Change the name to just say "Official Kid Icarus: Uprising Thread" or some crap like that.

... For the record, I steal some (like, 3%) credit in keeping this thread popular. >:3. But you and clay were pretty much the only ones posting when I rolled in, and this thread had maybe one or two posts a day. Once I came here, I popped in frequently, bringing the thread back to the front page every few hours (something I really haven't done much of recently ).
But on the topic of the end of SP weapons, what would you change the title to?
And if it does end, I do hope you get around to more threads knuckles so you can show your Sega love. :3

I didn't think spotpass weapons would end so soon, I didn't know these things usually lasted just a year. I'd like it if this place lived. I don't know what to change its name to, there's already a Kiu online battle thread, and kid icarus thread wouldn't work. And we get really off topic. :-? Maybe just call it the "occasional kid icarus uprising talk but mainly random nonsense" thread.
But I guess even if it does end up dying we'll still have the chatzy room(s) for our random nonsense and occasional kid icarus.
When it does die off though, whether it be in years or a few months, I'll miss this.
I don't have an emoticon for this awkward feeling though, so just imagine a weird, awkward, bittersweet, somewhat reminiscent emoticon in place of this sentence.

@Happy_Mask I spend so much time on this thread because its the 1st one I made. I'm amazed that I'm not the only one here.
Unfortunately, someone made a KI:U weapon thread before I could change the thread name, and I don't dare change it now.

This thread continues to amaze me. Through every possible obstacle, the thread has lived on. No matter what happens, it has kept coming back with a stronger intensity than before. Something as simple as a name change should not be what stops this thread from continuing on.
This thread reminds me of a snowball. It started off as a small little push when it was small and nothing. Over time, it has had individual pieces added to it that can never be taken away, but are covered up by new pieces over time, in a cycle. A bump could shake the stability of the snowball; but even if it loses pieces, it keeps on rolling. That is how I view this thread.
I believe the name could be changed to:
Kid Icarus: Uprising Community
to symbolize how much of a community this thread has become. A town may be formed for one purpose, but over time it can undergo changes as new ideas and problems develop. We are just currently experincing just that.

Ok, lots of things to discuss here.

I'd say Clay and Knuckles are at my same level, then Ruceyod and RPG should be above, although I don't have any conclusive evidence. Maybe we can set up a 1v1 tourney?

Sorry to hear that, at least you're fine, but just going through the boring law process should be painful . Those weapons seem to be fine, I don't have a great one for any of them, but it should be interesting.

Would I like there to be some? Yeah, of course, although I'd probably have some problems getting online funds, but it would still be cool just to give new life to the game. However, this really doesn't look like a game built for add ons of any sort because of programming reasons, not to mention Sakurai really hates making unfinished games.

As much as I'm hoping for there to be a sequel to this amazing game (for 3DS of course, the controls are perfect, just change power use), the chances of another one anywhere in 10 years seem to be slim. First, the game sales really didn't do hot at all, it wasn't a game that could stick to the top ten for more than a month, and it probably couldn't meet Nintendo's expectations. Then there is the problem of who will make it, since Nintendo's main team is stuck with games from the main franchises for Wii U and 3DS, and Sakurai is busy with SSB. As it was pointed put, Sakurai could make it after SSB, but it's far from top priority. So, for now, Kid Icarus is probably stuck in limbo.

I'm pretty sure you don't have to worry so much, tbd wouldn't just erase one of the biggest 3DS threads like that, it should live even after the Spotpass weapons stop coming, at least until the metagame finally dies.

And of course, them ninjas have to post before I do.
I believe Clay's idea is the best one, it shows what this thread is about.
