so this game is avaible for just 1€ in the european eshop until january 7th. that's a 93% discount !!

is this game any good? i never played a train simulator but for just 1€ i am curious. i looked at some screenshots on miiverse and one of them was kinda off. it hurt my eyes. normally i love the 3D effect but sometimes like with a popout effect i cant stand it. is the 3D effect okay in this game?

edit: just saw the game was already released in america a while ago and has been reviewed https://www.nintendolife.com/reviews/3ds-eshop/japanese_rail_s...

It's fine for £1. It sounds authentic and with headphones is actually quite immersive. The gameplay is very basic though.

Lucky Europe! It's worth way more than that, in my opinion. There are multiple unlockables per stage, BGM, and also a "Night Mode!" So it's definitely a full-featured game if you like train driving (but remember that this is ALL there is).

PS - Hey @Freelance, I may have taken your advice.
(Haven't gotten a chance to play it much yet though, due to Christmas stuff)

I'm guessing they're hoping this "£1" discount is a way to interest enough people into buying the second game at full price. That or it REALLY did not sell all that well in the US...

@World: Congrats! BTW, I bought it too!! I find it pretty hard

For the sake of a quid, I took a punt. Doesn't matter if it's rubbish at that price.

@Freelance: Now that I've gotten more of a chance to play it, I agree with you. It seems like it's much harder to get an "A" than in Suburbs (not to mention that Full Line mode is grueling no matter how you look at it).

But I feel like this game is just SO MUCH BETTER than Suburbs. I wasn't expecting much (all I wanted was more of the same), but this is everything Suburbs should have been. It's just so full-featured in comparison that I can't help but think now that it would've been worth the full price.

@Barbiegurl777: I actually found the controls a bit weird at first, but that was because I was so used to Suburbs (I get that they're based on different trains, but it's always weird to have completely different controls in a sequel)! Did you play that one? Too bad you didn't like it though (I'm definitely biased toward these games and like when other people get into them, heh)!

Challenge of the day...

Step 1: Load up European e-shop (its in the UK at least...)
Step 2: Select Latest Charts
Step 3: Try not to smile at #1 selling e-shop title at the moment ... huzzah for niche gaming!

I think that's because it was selling for 1 €.....

I bought it during the Holiday sale for 10 bucks. I absolutely love the game. The graphics and game are just so much smoother than the first version. I like the first version too. I think these Train Driver games are really cool. One thing about them though is that they are really short. You can beat them in just an hour or 2 if you speed through them. With all the awards you could beat it in about 4 hours. So definitely wait for a sale on these.

Still playing 3DS but will have Switch soon for multiplayer with friends. I miss you guys! Adam, Joni, Gavin and the rest of the Blue Rogues from the Phantasy Star Zero Days.
