Thats good to know, I suppose if they are remaking a game then it makes sense to use the best possible classic version of it. It would be nice to get some of the old Nintendo arcade games in 3D for example the Arcade version of Donkey Kong!!!

I kinda hoped that they wouldn't intentionally limit, console-wise, what content had a chance at getting the 3d makeover. Arcade games (especially later-in-the-game 2d ones) did some insanely awesome multi-layer scrolling and spirte scaling to show distance--if this was done correcting, in layers, with a 3d effect, the resulting experience would be awesome. I'm thinking of Battletoads Arcade right now and the Snake boss..... /salivates.
And give us VirtuaBoy games please....don't know how this bright idea hasn't found its way to you guys yet. There are 4 or 5 I'd love to own.

@Samholy You might be getting confused: Game Gear and Turbografx-16 games will be available on the Virtual Console with no 3D effects, and there's been no announcement that these consoles will give birth to 3D Classics. I'd like it if they did, though!

3D Classics =/= Virtual Console
"Virtual Console" is where downloadable emulated Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Gear, and Turbografx-16 games will be found.
"3D Classics" will have classic games from NES, SNES, Arcade, maybe Genesis/MD, etc. that are re-coded to use the whole screen, add new features and 3D

hence require time and people employed to adapt the games in 3D. i doubt it will have a huge library available then, but every titles will be great there is no doubt about it.
sonic 2 in 3D? yes sir! super smash tv in 3D ? bring it on. (i can dream yeah)

VB games on eShop can be possible for the most of the games, with exception of 2 games, since those 2 games use both D-Pads for different things, and using the slider + D-Pad at the same time isn't really handy. But for all those other game should run fine. =) I still sometime want to play VB Warioland. Nintendo, make it happen! =D

The Game Gear actually had a lot of great games on it. I had a GG but no GB for years. The Sonic games,some good sports games, Columns, Dr Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine (AKA Puyo Puyo), some great card games, and a few way-too-good-to-be-on-a-handheld-ports. I'm looking at you, Ristar. Heck, they even made Golden Axe into a Zelda clone, and a pretty good one, at that.
I'm waiting to see Atari Lynx games on the VC myself. But getting back on subject, put my vote down for a "3D Classic" version of Pole Position. I don't even really like racing games that much, but this one carries some strange attraction for me.

I was thinking of that exact same thing while playing Turtles in Time a while ago! That game on the go in 3D would be amazing! Hopefully they would remake the entire SNES game and not just the arcade version!
