Topic: I think Nintendo should discontinue the dsi series.

They should, after all, the 2DS is much cheaper than a normal dsi and can play DS and 3DS games. Plus theres all the features of the 3DS, Virtual Console, the new and improved Nintendo Eshop, and more, all at a much cheaper price point! The era of the DS shall be put to an end! Hello era of the 3DS!!!

They could probably just make a price cut for DSi and DSi XL, though.

Nah, why do that when they can get a 2DS that improves on a dsi in every way?!

Moreover, why get a 2DS when you can get a 3DS that's superior in every way? The DS is pretty much already dead, Nintendo themselves don't dev games for it anymore. Just let it quietly fade away.

The faster you get used to that fact, the better.

Anyway, I wasn't aware that they were still making DSis. I haven't seen any in quite some time.

What do we care if they keep selling DSi's? Whatever'll make Nintendo more money, I guess. If they think continuing to sell DSi's is a good idea, then so be it.

the 2DS is like a Mini version of a smartphone, it even has a camera(s) with a higher resolution than its screen can show(I'm talking about the 3D outer cameras)

@GuSilverFlame: The 3DS cameras are exactly the same as the 2DS cameras, too.

@Gioku I know, I'm saying the 2DS screens can't show the full resolution of the cameras(AKA 3D)

The cameras are still two because the AR games require it though. Not because of their capacity to take 3D photos.

I WOULD get used to it, if it were actually true. But yeah, they actually came out with new DSi colors at some point last year.

DSi is dead. It's been dead since March 27th, 2011.

I think you just ignored the purpose of the 2DS

If they're still making them, then they must still be turning enough profit. They aren't supporting any more software for it and DSiWare is still alive so I don't see the harm in continuing production for a while longer. The 2DS doesn't have to replace the DSi right now, it serves just fine as a bridge for those ready to play new gen games but don't want to pay the 3D price tag.

I love the DSi camera. All the features the 3ds doesn't have that the DSi had is frustrating.

Both the DS and DSi are discontinued in Japan, it's just NOA/E/AU that still need to discontinue it.

They'll probably discontinue them early next year.
