Topic: How Robust is the 3DS?

After picking one up brand new on ebay and then finding out it has no warrenty, I'm wondering what to do.

Has anyone ever had a technical fault with their 3DS? Is it quite a robust console, or should I think about maybe buying a warrenty?

Thanks

WIth some not very minor falls, mine had to repaired for the curse of the L and R triggers that stop working in NIntendo's handhelds.

I did sign up to them, however as I bought it from eBay, this voids the warrenty.

However, when you send your Nintendo console to them to be repaired, do you need to provide proof of purchase??

@Jay81UK,

Good question but it you bought it off ebay from a seller I'm not sure how you would get a warranty for it.

Unless maybe you called Nintendo & explained that you bought it online.

I've had my aqua 3DS since launch date it's a pretty good system work's good.

Not sure what to tell you though.

Good luck!

Happy Gaming! (^_^)

That's ok, thanks. It's a brand new console and it was sealed but I don't think the warrenty will be valid now.

From what you said, you've had no problems with yours so faults don't seem to be common like they are with the PS3 and Xbox.

i HAVE never had any problem with any console only destroyed my old ds myself(battletower says al...) and throwed my gameboy advance when i was mad XD but got replacement free becuase my mother lied XD

if you are carefull with it etc you can maybe even easy keep them for 30 years+
just dont smash the buttons too hard becuase they can get damaged that way

I myself havent ever had any real issue with my 3DS. The worst was possibly the fact that 3-4 times since I've bought it (on launch day) it's crashed and I've had to do a restart. Not too shabby.

Only issue is the screen scratch, but that is easily avoided if you know what's coming.

I own a PS1, GBA, GBA SP, Wii (GCN), 360, 3DS, PC (Laptop), Wii U, and PS4.
I used to own a GBC, PS2, and DS Lite

You should have never got one on ebay. Trade it in exchange for one bought at a store.

The 3DS has no major problems. Put on screen protectors and the scratched screen never happens.

Like I said, it was brand new and sealed, so nobody has even touched it apart from me.
