@JaxonH Bananas to the rescue! Sometimes that's all one needs. Glad to hear you're doing fine.
On the subject of the 3DS styli, just today I bought a really nice pack of made-for-WiiU stylus pens, they have an excellent shape, and came in a variety of colors. They're dreamGEAR brand. Which is something I hadn't seen in a while.
Funny story about bananas, one time, when my dad was a kid living in the family farm, he stole a whole bunch of bananas. He says they had to stop everything to search for him after it got late and he didn't go back home, and my grandpa found him passed out in a trench, surrounded by bananas. Apparently they had to pump his stomach because he had eaten too many.
Well I did finally convince myself to go to Urgent Care. They didn’t run any tests but they did dismiss it as “stress” and maybe potassium deficiency (that doesn’t explain the lightheadedness unless it was both of those things together). Which, whether it’s right or wrong it made me feel better. The lightheadedness went away shortly after which lends credence to the theory that it was hypertension from freaking out. But the sudden pain in the arm and heart haven’t completely gone away so, just taking it easy with some aspirin and a dozen health supplements and bananas and general easy going. Figure hey, if it’s really just stress than no harm done. If it’s not, best to hedge with appropriate action. Feeling great today though. So that’s improvement. But playing Horizon has been 0 for 3... pains every time. It’s like I’m allergic to the game or something. Will try again in a week or so.
Yeah, hopefully they're right, but urgent care waving off alarming symptoms as "stress" sounds like the beginning of almost every medical horror story I've ever heard, lol. I think it's fine as long as you keep an eye on your symptoms and don't ignore them worsening or staying persistent for a long period of time. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with you. In general, though, if someone with a degree is telling you not to worry, and your body is consistently signaling otherwise, it's usually best to trust your body.
I beat Star Fox 64 3D and loved it. It’s fantastic and the best entry in the series, IMO. I also have the English SMT 1 and 2 as VC on 3DS. And since they did the Ambassador GBA games, that provided an official shell for VC games to be injected into, color restored and ghosting removed. Not sure if sleep mode is patched in. They have the ability to do that now but I obtained mine a few years ago and that might’ve been before they figured out how to do it.
I'd argue SF64/64 3D is the only really good Star Fox game. The SNES one looks like hell in a handbasket, and the Wii U one, putting aside the weird control scheme, forgets it's supposed to be a rail shooter half the time.
Tell ya what’s hard to get though- extendable styli for the New 3DS model (not XL). I realized I lost my stash that I bought a few years ago and I needed an extra for my new New 3DS I’m using. I searched the Internet high and low and even got burned with OG 3DS extendable styli marketed as New 3DS styli. But I finally found a seller on eBay with a 5-pack of them. So I have an extra if you need for either the OG 3DS, New 3DS or New 3DS XL. Can ship in an envelope with a single stamp. So let me know if either of you are dying to get your hands on a proper extendable stylus.
Do you remember the vendor you purchased it from?
@jump Maybe it's because I grew up playing more on handheld consoles, but I didn't really have any issues spotting enemies in the game. And, aside from the stereoscopic 3D, I'd also point to the overall improvement in visual fidelity. I agree it's not a night-and-day difference like OoT3D vs OoT64, though.
@Sunsy Thanks. It looks cute, and, considering the fairly high pedigree of the developer, I'm expecting it to be pretty decent. If nothing else, it'll be hard to go wrong at $4.99.
@Eel
Lol I don’t know whether to laugh or be horrified hearing that story! Sounds like your dad got a brief case of Kremling syndrome 😂
@Ralizah
Ya... I actually kind of agree. Being a rail shooter is what defined it and despite the SNES entry being great for its time, it doesn’t hold up. Like, at all. Neither does Command on DS. The Wii U entry was decent. I’d say Assault on GC was pretty good though. Haven’t played Adventure but it’s a totally different genre.

On Star Fox: My hope is to pick up Star Fox 64 3D before too long. I haven't played any of the series outside of the two SNES titles. I did try the demo for Star Fox Zero, but I noped out of that pretty quickly.
Other than SF, I have a My Nintendo discount for Mario & Luigi: Dream Team that expires at the end of the month. I still have yet to play the series despite already owning both the Superstar Saga and BIS remakes. XD
Currently playing: Ys X: Nordics (Switch), Donkey Kong Land (NSO)
@Tyranexx I like the Mario & Luigi series. All five entries are worth playing IMO. Not only do they have nice environments and fun battle mechanics, but they have funny moments too. Bowser's Inside Story is probably the best one, but I also enjoyed Superstar Saga and Dream Team quite a lot. They're all nice, lighthearted RPGs
3DS is the best machine for Pet Simulation games. From Nintendogs, Petz, Petz Fantasy, Wannyan series, by Japanese developers and by Western developers.
It's too bad the genre like this still only a few games on Nintendo Switch.
@MarioLover92 In terms of Mario RPGs, I've only played Super Mario RPG and two games out of the Paper Mario series, though I don't think the latter fully qualifies as a RPG series these days. XD I've read M&L is a great series, and I do hope to play Superstar Saga (as it's chronologically the first) before too long. The only one I'm on the fence about is Paper Jam. That one seems to either be liked or disliked.
Brownie points for the whole series for being light-hearted, especially in times like these.
Currently playing: Ys X: Nordics (Switch), Donkey Kong Land (NSO)
@Tyranexx Paper Jam is pretty good in my opinion. It's definitely the weakest of the three M&L games I've played (the others being Superstar Saga and Bowser's Inside Story) because the environments and enemies are quite generic so it doesn't have the same quirky, almost surreal feeling that the other games do. With that being said, the battle system is as fun as ever and it's great seeing Paper Mario crossover with, um, Flesh Mario. Still a very enjoyable game despite its flaws.
Thank you Nintendo for giving us Donkey Kong Jr Math on Switch Online
@Tyranexx Yeah absolutely! We kind of need entertainment more than ever these days. Definitely give the games you've gotten a shot, especially if you're into RPGs. I do agree with @Dogorilla that Paper Jam is the low point of the series, but it's still a decent game. It's just that the settings are a tad too similar to what you see in the platformers, so it's not as memorable as the other M&L entries.
@Ninfan
No, the Japanese 3DS games only have Japanese language, NO English language at all.
Depend on the games, the kids Japanese games tend to have Hiragana and Katakana by 90% with very few Kanji letters and the Kanji letters that being used are for grade 1 - 2 , sometimes they have Furigana (Hiragana letters above the Kanji letters).
Some other Japanese games have more Kanji letters without Furigana, usually for games with heavily Japanese cultures or mature audiences.
Study the Hiragana and Katakana letters, enrich your knowledge with some basic Japanese words at least for grade 1 - 2 and you can enjoy Japanese games without being clueless.
But there are some Japanese games even you cannot read the letters, the games are very understandable by clicking the usual command as English games and you can literally play those games even without reading all the Japanese texts.
@Ninfan
Not sure what games you’re talking about, but 3DS games rarely if ever include English due to the system being region locked. But Switch, thanks to being region free, has resulted in so many good Japanese game imports (and almost all Asian game imports) including English. The physical games I have that are from Japan or Asia in English are:
Bayonetta
I Am Setsuna
Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon
World of Final Fantasy
Final Fantasy VII & Final Fantasy VIII Remastered Twin Pack
Final Fantasy X/X-2 (both on 32gb cart)
Dragon Quest 1+2+3 Collection
Romancing Saga 3
Okami HD
Onimusha Warlords
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy
Devil May Cry
Capcom Beat ‘Em Up Bundle
Atelier Dusk Trilogy
Overwatch
Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4
Ace Angler
Super Robot Wars X
Super Robot Wars V
Super Robot Wars T
Mr Driller DrillLand
Doraemon Story of Seasons
And there’s more, I just happen to import from Europe instead of Japan/Asia when given a choice. So stuff like Taiko Drum Master likely has English as well.
Unfortunately, 3DS being region locked meant games had no need for English. And Asian releases were very sparse. The only JP 3DS games worth playing in English are the fan translations, particularly Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry’s Wonderland 3D and Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3. There’s also Puyo Puyo Tetris but, that’s on Switch, and available in the west.

@Dogorilla Hmm...I might go back to considering Paper Jam in that case. I do think it'd be neat to see how they handled the crossover. It doesn't sound like a terrible game by any means. I'm just trying to intentionally become pickier with what I do pick up. If only I had unlimited time. XD
@MarioLover92 Definitely these days! I love RPGs, the problem is there are so many of them that I try to only grab the ones I'm genuinely interested in. Particularly since some RPGs are quite long; it doesn't help that I love exploring and talking to most NPCs lol.
I'll reconsider grabbing Paper Jam. Thanks for the feedback!
@JaxonH I never heard that there was a DQM: Joker 3. Guessing that one stayed in Japan?
Currently playing: Ys X: Nordics (Switch), Donkey Kong Land (NSO)
@Ninfan
Not every Japanese games have English language.
Some of Japanese game developers might think their games will not appeal Western audiences so they keep the games being Japanese version only without English language option.
