Ugh. I'm so embarrased. I lost my Frederick (the obligatory Fire Emblem wildcard for when a battle looks like it's going pear shaped) to a single hammer blow...

I hope hecomes back because he didn't explicitly die. He just retreated.

Having fun with it.

He'll show up in cutscenes, but that's it. He's done.

Wen important characters die (Lissa or Frederick, maybe some others) they only become wounded and can no longer fight but will stay with your army.

My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.

I got lucky getting this game as the place I normally go to sold out of it and I had to go the next closest GAME store, thankfully got the their last copy. Even got the artbook! Any tips before I start?

To avoid any frustration, start on casual first.

Chapter 6 done, and Lon'qu is a level 10 monster. Had him guarding the 1-tile thick entrance in the middle with Lissa just healing him every turn. I'll now probably just use him for training Donnel for a while.

@Bulby What difficulty are you on? When I beat that chapter I didn't even have to heal Lon'qu! The real challenge of that level is getting Gaius and not getting someone killed in the process :/

I'm just playing Normal Classic, so that probably explains why I didn't have too much trouble. I'll do Hard for my second playthrough. I probably didn't need to heal Lon'qu that much, but it was good for Lissa's experience.

I don't remember how I got Gaius that much, think I just went straight into it with my Chrom/Sumia pair, but by how much health both Chrom and Gaius (when Chrom countered) took, I don't think that would work on Hard. Unless Gairus is in a different place in harder modes, because in Normal he's one of the first enemies the units on the left can fight.

@Bulby Oh, well that makes sense. I was on Normal-Classic too and the real trouble I had was keeping Chrom safe when I had him run out to get Gaius. In retrospect I should've let Gaius hit first then "talked" to him.

Lon'Qu, MU, and Chrom are all invincible killing machines in my "hard" playt-hrough of the game because they can kill any enemy in one turn and dodge 90% of the attacks thrown their way. If Kellam wasn't so vulnerable to magic he'd be near invincible too.

Lon 'qu is unstoppable.

He always gets criticals too and I'm like "don't mess with Lon 'qu! >:0"

Only problem is when he's in a streetpass person's team lol. I've had to reset a time or two due to him having lethality.

Yeah, my first playthrough Lon 'qu was my go to offensive weapon. I had him marry Tharja and the two made an awesome pair.

On Lunatic and Lunatic+, Lon 'qu hasn't been nearly as effective for me. I hardly use him now because the kids tend to be better options. Kind of sucks because he's one of my favorite characters.

@Bulby - You sit Chrom just out of Gaius's attack range, and talk to him on the second turn. At least on Lunatic and Lunatic+

Edit: I'm with @MetallicDonkey on Lon'qu, on Lunatic and Lunatic+ he's likely to die instead of kill sadly and I like the character too.

10 hours in. I'm in love with this game, and it's already the best thing I've played this year. The only thing I'm not so keen on is the downloadable characters (ie. anyone you cant get through the main story) - they're completely expendable and you can get multiple copies of the same person...

Before I got up to chapter 7, I didn't think much of Virion. How wrong I was. He basically got be through chapter 7 on my third try (both Maribelle and Gaius died in one turn on my first attempt so I reset, and then Wilson (MU) died so I got game over). When that huge onslaught of enemies came after the dragon reinforcements are killed, I formed a human shield around Virion and Maribelle, and it basically won me the battle. Virion just kept firing those arrows, and Marielle healed my weaker units.

I did have a very lucky near-death experience with Virion when a dragon-rider used a hand-axe which I didn't notice on him, but he dodged it (with a 75% chance of getting hit, and therefore dying), but that's beside the point. Chapter 7 is by far the hardest one so far, and its just gonna keep on getting harder...
