I don't know if many people are going to know this, but I have a Japanese eShop copy of Fire Emblem if: Special Edition. I think that distribution method might have been exclusive to that region (I am not speaking of that English cart which I personally think is a poster boy of anti-consumer behavior from Nintendo, I think the western digital versions were split just like the physical copies?)
I hadn't really played, been waiting on learning Japanese. But I wonder if I would have to hop on this.
As I have read, the JP eShop SE plays as a single game until some point in "Chapter 6" that there is some question which determines the branch played. Would I have to download DLC at that point to keep playing? Or is the game, I presume, then transformed into one of the two versions and I keep playing that one? (since I think that version still advertised having to buy the not-selected scenario as DLC just as they did for the west)
