Topic: eShop stole my money!

Because of Nintendo Europe's incompetence to make any prepaid eShop cards, I went and bought a prepaid Visa Card today to use on the eShop. I entered in all the details and then it gave me an error code so I tried it again and it gave me another code saying this credit card cannot be used. At that point I got annoyed and checked my balance to find that they took the money out and I didn't get any eShop credit! What am I supposed to do now?

Contacting customer support would be your best bet.

Sue them for all the money they've got.

Yes well in Australia the only contact info they have is a phone number that operates between 7am-3pm in my timezone and it's 11pm now.

I think you'll just have to wait until they're open tomorrow. I know that doesn't sound overly helpful but it's pretty much the only thing you can do.

I've actually had this happen to me. Some major error happened on the Wii's shop which accidentally took money off my debit card without actually giving me points, so I called Nintendo and my bank and the charge was taken off.

Even with the charge being reversed, I still want my eShop credit! That's what I bought the card for.

Nah, just call them, resolve it, and then try again if it's necessary

I'd get in touch with Nintendo's customer support tomorrow and see if they can either give you the eShop credit or give you the money back. If you get your money back then I'd try again, but not before.

If you're planning on calling customer support, you may want to ask the person if they have any idea when the prepaid cards are gonna be available in EU/Australia, as that's something I'm sure a lot of people would like to know.

@Mario Party Fan: sorry to hear that, but it's the best to call the custormer support, like other people told u. Don't try it again until they tell u can. The problem hasn't been solved yet, so it won't work.

@Birdman13: I asked NoG twice in emails since 1st of July. They answered me on both that the cards went out to retail, but they couldn't give me any info which stores got those cards. Same answer, but two people. Don't know what to think about their answer...
It didn't say just in Germany or whole Europe, just that it went to retail... but not even Amazon has them. don't know if that helps anyone...

@MAddogz Interesting they told you that stores have the cards — Nintendo UK has told me they have no idea when the cards will be released. They're long since past their due date of course!

But you didn't turn off your 3DS, right? I tend to count that as one time, even if two attempts were made. It's like resetting your computer after it freezes; it goes back to normal.

@James: yeah, but they said they are not able to tell which stores in peticuliar got those cards just stores that sell pre-paid cards in general, and didn't answer why Amazon haven't got them yet... last email from them was on July 7th.
