Topic: Does anyone else regret buying a 3DS?

Here are the reasons I regret my purchase.

1. 3D feature is terrible (pretty much useless IMO)
2. The parallax barrier display bothers my eyes in both 2D & 3D modes.
3. Its uncomfortable to hold
4. Short battery life
5. The start button is not a "button"

Its kind of hard to play games when its uncomfortable to hold the system and look at the screen...

I had one got rid of it...

if only there were demos at a GAME store that you could STOP at to see if the 3DS is worth your while

I'm on the fence leaning towards no despite spending the first 6 months of the system's life verbally destroying it (and literally every other system for that matter, outside of the PS3 and regular DS)

At first, sort of... but DOA was so full of content that I just played that for a while. By the time I got to a point where I was remotely bored with it, fall came around and delivered on 1st party, and then we just had a good slew of games after that. So I don't regret buying it anymore.
The ambassador program helped a lot also. 20 free games, many of which I don't own = happy me.
In terms of design, my only real issue is the battery life and in the ridge at the bottom screen. It has left permanent marks on the top screen, which sucks. I suppose the start and select buttons are issues, but few games use them outside of pausing or for affirmation in a SRPG, so it doesn't matter too much.
Oh, and I love the 3D effect. I don't find it useless.

@207KD I've heard some people found it more comfortable when they used their system in conjunction with the Circle Pad Pro!

@moomoo If you want to talk design, how about using LED displays next time around. True, the colour suffers a bit, but I've heard they only take around 1/3 the power to operate.

@207KD You came up with 5 reasons you don't like it, but I bet you could come up with a lot more reasons why you do! I could name at least 15-20 off the top of my head.

super no and what makes it better is that i got it for free...ah christmas!
also if you have a nyko battery pack like i got it holds more battery life and it got a better grip which makes it more comfortable

I may have to get a circle pad pro when smash bros comes out, thats the ONLY reason I'm keeping my 3DS.

It's been a wonderful year with my 3DS. So, no.

I do regret buying the sims 3d though.

I don't regret it. Though I do wish it had all of the software and apps it has now when it launched.

Nah, it's a pretty good toy, and my activity log tells me I have got my money's worth out of it.

I'll enjoy it more when there are some new games on it I want to play though.

It's not like he's trolling. He's just trying to see if any are in the same position as himself. Most of what he says are legitimate concerns of more than a few people. Although I personally don't find the system uncomfortable or the display distracting, others do. Maybe it's just my big hands and my insane amount of time put into The World Ends With You.
Let's not forget, also, that the 3DS had some big problems before. It didn't have eShop until June (and even then there was nothing new for it or nothing coming out consistently until January), Streetpass was lacking, there was a lack of games worth buying at $40 (the only ones I could think of before Zelda for a lot of people would be Street Fighter IV, Dead or Alive: Dimensions and Ghost Recon, and those with Zelda are 4 games.) A lack of things to do with it in general. The situation's different now, but before, buyer's remorse was pretty common.

When the White one comes out, that's when I will get mine.

sometimes I don't carry it as much as I already have a phone and tablet.
