^tbh honest I'm surprised at the US release date as it was months before both the Euro & Japan dates which very rarely happens with Ninty and even more so when it's a developed in Japan.
I was keen on this, then tried the demo and the enemy turns were enough to put this on the backburner. that slow turn was a big mistep and turned me off purchasing. However, I have retried the demo after the patch and my interest has been rekindled, and a purchase is now (and once again) extremely likely.
I'm so disappointed by the poor sales of this game. It is my absolute favorite 3DS title bar Awakening, and I really want to see this series become more than a one-off.
EDIT: ...Not like Starfy... My beautiful spinning star prince, you were too good for this world!!

I still need to get this... I feel bad that I haven't bought it yet
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...
It's okay. We'll just keep asking for more IPs, right?
I'm hoping Ninty wont take the reason it's flopped is because it's a new IP and Splatoon will prove otherwise, STEAM seems more like it's trying to be something for everyone but ends up being nothing for no one. With so much mish-mashing of elements (especially niche genres) going on it was always going to be a hard sell, I even think people said as much on the first few pages of the thread. For example I'm a comic fan but I'm not a steampunk fan and it did make me go "meh" at first but I still followed as I'm fond of IS games and the demo reassured it'll be great, I'm also sure FPS fans aren't keen on the TRPG elements to it and the americana doesn't hold up well in Japan/Euro or even in the US etc. The reviews didn't help either with the infamous example being Polygon's.
TBH I'd rather see a game like this being made and flopping than not being made at all because resources are tied to the likes of Super Mario Party X and Mario Fishing.

If Splatoon flops then I think Nintendo would see it as there being no point moving outside of Mario, Zelda, Smash and party games (the only 1 million sellers on Wii U that aren't Mario, Zelda or Smash are Nintendo Land and Wii Party U) along with Pokémon for handhelds. Of course the huge question is whether the Splatoon hype translates into sales.
