All I can say is that Bravely Default has the BEST music that a Square Enix game has had in YEARS. The music and the games beauty simply bring tears to my eyes.

I'm actually wondering who is responsible for the music. I believe they said it was someone who hasn't worked with Square Enix before.

KarrotMan

One thing I noticed on that trailer... Those landscapes are not pre-rendered, they are real. This game looks nothing short of Beautiful on a handheld standpoint. Can't wait to see this on my own system. And by the way, the name just grew on me. Please don't change it SE when you localize it, Obscure title naming is one thing that you are famous for.

Is there any info on the battle system yet?

KarrotMan

Still looks to be the usual turn-based RPG similar to 4HoL from what I've seen in the TGS trailer. I could be wrong though, not much has been revealed.

It's hard to say 'looks good' and believe it because the PlayStation Vita is totally blowing the 3DS out of the water. I mean, the graphics on the PSVita are on such a higher plane than those of the Nintendo 3DS that I am now worried that I wasted my money. I have a strange conviction that Nintendo is going to announce a new 3DS at next year's E3 that will make the current 3DS look like muke. The only reason I haven't traded or sold my 3DS is because I love Nintendo Video and I'm just breathless with anticipation for Super Mario 3D Land and Kid Icarus.

You do realize that if there is a hardware change its only going to cosmetic and nothing that effects performance.

Also the Vita won't be that great if it bombs in america. Also the backgrounds are real and aren't pre rendered. There's a post on neogaf explaining it.

Also its square enix most likely they won't change the name.

@TokyoRed: If you love Nintendo games and the games made for Nintendo systems, then why does the single aspect of graphical superiority of one competitor make you believe you wasted your money? The 3DS isn't going to be put out of business by the Vita. Even if Vita tripled its install base over the 3DS', there will still be very high quality games made for the 3DS for a long, long time.

I was merely talking about the art style, not raw power. Even the gameboy advance with its now limited hardware can manage to produce some lovely looking games. Vita has some Beautiful games coming out too, but even with stronger hardware, you can still have a unappealing game due to its art design. So don't think that the 3DS will fail to the Vita due to its inferior hardware, because in the end, its the games that matter. It will do fine and so will the Vita, just give it time to shine after the Holidays and you can expect more support.

I agree with you points. It's just that now that I'm a lot more tech savvy I'm always looking to the most dynamic experience. I'm not in anyway trashing on Nintendo.

I'm a Nintendo fan but I am also a fan of money in my pocket. It's sort of the more bang for your buck that I'm concerned with. Nevertheless, I'm glad that I have a 3DS even if it isn't as saucy as the PSVita in the tech department. But yes, I agree that gameplay is in the end the most important thing. I am totally interested in seeing what stuff the 3DS gets after Christmas. What is going to try my patience the most is the wait for Bravely Default to get a USA release.

I hope this game doesn't interfere with the one I've been developing. It's also called Bravely Default, but it's a FPS (not an RPG) about a young college student who's sick of dealing with his school loans.

...in my pants.

Uh no. Nier. Look it up.

Anyway, this is more or less my default most anticipated 3DS game. It's just lovely to know that ONE JRPG will actually be released in Australia.

FonistofCruxis

The first four jobs to be revealed in the game are Knight, Monk, White mage and Black mage. Also, enemies will have classes too which is interesting. Here are some screenshots of these classes.
@Chocogoldfish Tales of the Abyss was released on 3DS in Austrailia but its not surprising that you wouldn't know that seeing as its such a rare game.
