Topic: Metroid Prime Federation Force (and Blast Ball)

Surprise surprise it is a Metroid game.

The Blast Ball thing is just a mini game.

First, let me get this out of my system for those that argued it couldn't possibly be metroid:

Second HYYPPEE!!! I miss that portion of the direct though, I'll have to go back and see the game play of metroid prime federation force.

EDIT: Just watched it, where's samus? Now I'm just a tiny bit less hyped as the graphics aren't even close to the original prime on the NGC..

This is coming from someone who absolutely adores the Metroid series and the Metroid Prime games in general....

Weren't people wishing for a Metroid game without Samus a while back?

We were wishing for a metroid game without her voice actor, not samus herself.

VERY early for us to start passing judgement against this game, but I just have this really bad feeling about it.. like I'm almost expecting it to be worse than other m was.. and even the graphics in metroid prime hunters on the DS lite looked a bit better than this prime game on the 3DS.

Ah well, we wait for more footage.

I would like to point out my favorite game of all time is Metroid Prime.

....I'm incredibly mixed about this. I have no doubt at all that it will be a very good game. But did Retro Studios burst into flames or something, what is this?!

The game looks good. But no Samus? I'm pretty angry about that to be honest.

Idk. This seems like the biggest possible middle finger Nintendo could have given to Metroid fans.

Plot twist, the final boss in the game is Samus.

It's just a harmless spinoff to expand the universe beyond Samus. Let's get over it.

It looks like good multiplayer fun.

People say that Metroid is all about isolation. That's exactly what this game is: It has isolated us even further from a real Metroid game.

I have nothing against spin-off games, but when you have a franchise that hasn't got a new game in what, 6 years? The last thing you need is a spin-off.

After watching the treehouse presentation, this game is actually very promising looking.

Samus may not be present in the game, but master chief wasn't in every halo game either and everybody loved reach/wars. Afterall, the core gameplay isn't any different from being a trooper or samus regardless, and we have no clue if samus may make an appearence later anyway.

The only thing missing from this game is the morph ball... that does ruin some exploration like the spider rails, half pipes, etc.. but I can live without that with how much entertainment the multiplayer can provide. I just hope it's a full prime game, and not some level based shooter like starfox.. as I loved being able to roam where ever I wanted at any time in the prime games.

The music is also meh... it could use a better more techno soundtrack, the pirate theme (if that's what that is) sounds nothing like the other prime's pirate themes.

Other than that, it's definitely worth buying. Just hope it's a long game. I saw somebody in the chat say it's like halo on the go, which is equally fine with me.

Maybe samus being discluded from the game is because of how much everybody hated her in other M? We kinda don't see the samus the same anymore after other M anyway.. so it's not like a new prime would patch up her history.

All they had to do was go back to prime Samus, or give her better lines. That's literally all they had to do to get rid of the other m stain.

I don't think Other M affected Samus' status as the main character of the series. As far as I know, only some western audiences hated her and the game was just mediocre at worst, that happens.

This is a cooperative multiplayer spinoff, so they had to create new characters for it. Having four links walking together may work for Zelda, but it wouldn't be as easy to do that here.

And you can't have her around without being the special snowflake main character, which would distract from the federation part of the game.

Apparently Next Level Games is developing this, which increases my interest a bit. It looks fun at least.

Throw this cheap game in the garbage!!!

I don't think it will be cheap. At least 30 bucks.

Anyway, let's wait until it releases before we throw it away.
