I'm doing the review on this, but unless I missed the topic (feel free to turn the tables on a mod and link me if I did!) I didn't see anyone discussing it. Which is...shocking. (HAHA)

Anyway, I'm curious if anyone took the plunge. And how they're finding it.

I haven't really been following it closely, is it good (without spoiling your review)?

It's fun. I was a fan of the Mega Man Zero series (so obviously I was interested in this), but I'm glad the game is still its own thing despite the obvious similarities. Already beat the game, but I'm going through some of the stages again to find all the jewels I missed.

I took the plunge and the game is pretty fun. Gives me a mega man vibe but of course with a twist to combat. Sprite work is amazing though variety is a little lacking in the common enemy. Level design is pretty good but the boss fights I'm sure are the highlight of the game being very unique and challenging. There are a few other tidbits that make it a mostly polished experience so overall that's how I feel about the game so far. I'd recommend it.

Oh great. Since Phil's reviewing it, it must be bad

Also, to answer your question, there was a thread, but it hasn't been active in the past several months

I took a chance on it. It's not too bad but I'm enjoying Mighty Gunvolt more.

Game(s) right now: Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon, World of Final Fantasy Maxima

I need to get this. It currently has a Metascore of 78, so that is not bad. I will get it next week with Tappingo 2.

I will comment in this thread, never being able to find it again.

I did not enjoy the intro stage and I have not gone back to the game since. The game runs at a much lower framerate than I was expecting — it's only 30 fps, while almost all other games of this type are 60 fps. I feel that the gameplay would have been a lot more enjoyable for me if the framerate was higher.

I might get this if it's on sale soon

As a player with a speed runner's mentality, those frames would only slow me down. Anyways I love the game. Just the right amount of challenge to make me try again rather than quit. Just need to figure out the games speed running tactics now.

No. Only certain cutscenes during the game were removed, however these did not affect the story at all.

How annoying are the touch screen controls for certain motions? Is there no button combination alternative to the those touch screen commands? I heard the touch screen was needed to pull certain special moves, hence why I ask. I am hoping this is true, or that it's at least not a requirement. It would really annoying to use it (maybe enough to avoid the game) if there is no alternative control scheme for it.

You just tap one of the icons on the touch screen when you want to use a special move. It's not annoying at all.

Hopefully this comes to Europe soon.
How similar is it to the Megaman games? I'm talking classic ones - I've only played 1-4 but I love them.

I wonder how much the 8-bit game will be going for by itself...?
