For some reason VVVVVV just doesn't really interest me
You're really missing out.
I haven't even made it to the second castle yet as I've had no time lately. It's a good game for taking it slowly and just messing around and training though.
Actually I've made it to the first boss on hard mode but lost and haven't yet tried to defeat him. I don't see a problem with the enemies anymore but those bosses are going to be a pain in the butt to get down. I wish there was some kind of boss rush mode so I don't have to go through all those enemies just to learn a pattern!

Sure if you wouldn't mind posting them. I did see your post for the final boss already though. Still hard to pull off the victory even if you know the right moves!

Alright, I never figured out the 2nd boss, so if you want him, I'll go have a rematch and you said you've seen the final one.
First boss, If he holds his sword up, dodge to the left or right then attack. If he brings it back to the side, dodge backwards, then move forward to stike If about to pull off the special attack, use yours or you have to be able to back up about 7 times, so just use your special

@Tech101 - Good luck, always save the special for when the boss starts the unstoppable attack and watch them take damage and be stopped, it's the only way I could beat the last two.

Everyone says this game is awesome, but I don't like the childish look of it. Plus, the battles don't look engaging at all, and they don't look hard at all. Someone help here!!!
Monster Hunter for the win!!!!! Check out my music album at https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/fifteen-ep/id589290511
@Portisanta - They are hard, the enemies can pull of fake attacks to trick you and they hit hard. They can one or two hit you if you can mange to beat the last few bosses and get expert. Plus the last two boss fights have an extreme difficultly and some enemies have multiple attacks in a row and if your unprepared they will easily trip you up for a hit. There are some tricks to try to make it easier but for the most part, it is down right difficult or at least challenging. Also the graphics are along the lines of an upgraded N64 style, so they are nostalgic and not all that childish.

Just downloaded it and am loving every bit of it. The graphics are amazing to me So I don't see where the 'bad graphics' bit comes in. Play mechanics, so far, are wonderful! And I love the Kappa.

@grumble the graphics are not bad, but they do have some assets reminiscent to those of an N64 game.Thats not to say thats a bad thing... it adds to the charm of the game, giving it a novelty feeling.
Just downloaded from the sale Friday, beat the final boss today in the first try but I can't say that for the second boss... How do you upgrade your special?
Also I don't see how everyone says this looks like a N64 game. Did people forget what they look like? It looks more like a Skip game too me, it's a design choice. Not sure if I should try expert mode yet... I wish I could have 2 files.
Damn, @Miss_Birdo! I've had Sakura Samurai for over a week now, and I've only reached the second boss. Actually, I'm about one level away from the second boss. I've been trying to upgrade my sword and stock up on some supplies, but it takes so damn long to acquire enough currency. The last time I played, I hadn't even sharpened my sword. Even though it has needed sharpening for the last three levels I completed. I have no major complaints about this game. Except for the background and overall level designs. The backgrounds are very empty and barely illustrated, and the level designs would have benefited greatly from some additional obstacles and inanimate objects. Which would have offered some extra strategy during swordplay, and made the levels feel not so empty.
Currency shouldn't be a problem if you do that smiley face challenge thing in the first village. Just wait to see if the face is going to be held up for a moment before striking, and don't hit the happy faces, and you're pretty much guaranteed to win. You can double your money three times.
This just may be my favorite eShop title. I love the strategic battles, the art style, and minigames. Also, I'm a sucker for anything in a feudal Japanese setting

I assume you've seen Inuyasha, then?
Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.
