Unless it gets worse, I probably wouldn't worry too much about it. My plain blue 3DS XL also has a bit of wiggle to it. I think they are designed to have a bit of looseness to them, as if they were too rigid the hinges would be more prone to cracking.
Nope, it's actually about what is expected. So long as the clicks are still there and you can feel them being limited to different angles by these clicks, then it's still good. The hinge will eventually wear out, but you have a while to go, and you really will know when it happens, but the hinge should not "break" in any way that can damage the unit so long as you are not abusing it, even when and if it becomes excessively loose. Things like this are very difficult to gauge, and there are a lot of people worried about it, but the old system had about a 15 degree "free" zone between notches.

Ah, thank you very much. I've owned a DS, DS Lite, DSi, DSi XL, and Flame Red 3DS, and none of them had wiggle room, so I was worried. It does seem to be about 15 degrees.
Edit: I tried another and can confirm that the hinge give is "normal".
