Should I get KI:Uprising? (from club nintendo)

Seems the only good 3ds game to get from that list.

That's still my favorite 3ds game out of all the retail games I've played say 50 or so.

I want to get a great rpg that I can sink my time into this summer, and now in between that time. I work at a summer camp and want something great to play. I have 40 bucks, I was looking at Etrian Odyssey and Fire Emblem, but I'm not sure. I have the Fire Emblem demo downloading. Honestly I absolutely adored Dragon Quest IX and just wish that they would port VII here. That would be the most perfect situation. I really want a game like IX but there aren't really any that I can think of. And DQ IV, V, and VI, are so expensive. I would like a large, long, solid rpg to sink my time into.

I'm not a big Pokemon fan either lol. I do however love rpg's. With that said I have 140 hours into Etrian Odyssey and haven't barely touched the end game stuff which looks to add at least another 20 Plus hours. Dl that demo as well as it's the first part of the game and it transfers over to the main game. Fire Emblem is also a very good game. Can't go wrong with either. Fire Emblem is a lot more about character building then EO IV.

I have to add a couple more long ones to that list and it would be SMT IV and Bravely Default. SMT IV just barely edged out EO IV as my game of the year that year. I have over 100 hours into that and still haven't beat it just yet. Haven't had enough time to play BD but it also has a demo to give it a try. From what I have played it's more like DQ IX then probably any other rpg on the system.

I could go on as there is plenty of other good to great rpg's but my last choice is SMT Devil Survivor Overclocked. Great voice acting and for me and many other Great story. Gameplay like FE with a slight Pokemon feel with the demon collecting.

You can't really go wrong with any Atlus rpg on the system. Some are better then others but all deliver.

I dont know about Etrian Odyssey, but I have to let you know I have put up a total of 600+ hours in fire emblem awakening.
I wont spoil, but you can get different relationships per save files depending on what you do. Pretty much I replayed the games many times, and try somehting I didnt before.

A LOT of people talk about Persona and SMT. I've never really looked at them and wasn't sure about all the demon stuff. I'm not squeamish about that kind of stuff, but as I'm a Christian i'm not sure sometimes. I loved Diablo II but eventually stopped playing it. I am curious about them though. I'll have to look them up. And yeah, thank goodness for Atlus. They always bring tons of games. You'll usually find something worth your while there. I was also looking at Project X Zone. Another Strategy RPG. Not sure how I feel about them. I feel like I would like them. Unless Fire Emblem or Etrian Odyssey really strike me as amazing, I think Ima pick up Dragon Quest VI used at Gamestop tomorrow for $20 then find another $20 game.

I forgot to comment on Bravely Default. I've had my eye on that game for a long time. I have a varied history with FInal Fantasy and JRPG's in general. I absolutely adore them and love their style, I can just get so burnt out on them. But I'm on a point where I'm getting back into them. I got sick of FF and never really got back into them. That's why I'ma bit hesitant about Bravely Default. I kinda want to wait on a price drop. That's why I loved Dragon Quest IX soooo much. I put over 270 hours into it. It was a beautiful mix of Western RPGs and JRPGs. Open worldish and loads of after game content. Oh mah goodness.

Thanks, a nice start - more games are still welcome ofcourse.

I have smash 4 on the Wii U, does it still has any value to still get this on N3DS at that point?

Also I haven't played any Zelda so far beside Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Windwaker & Twilight Princess. If I wanna start with the DS Games of Zelda, start with Link to the Past?

I was planning to buy a Pokemon game. Last one I played was Ruby/Saphire back in the days. Are the Pearl/Diamond/Black/White/X/Y worth it, if so what is best to start with? I have no clue what the logical order of the games is since Ruby, confused on buying either ORAS or X/Y (2)?

Bumping these questions, specificly the Pokemon ones since I plan to buy one of these.

We always have a choice, just make sure to choose right before regretting the wrong decision.

Answered in the order asked:

1)If you are looking for the mewtwo/lucas DLC just buy it separately since the deal for getting both games involved Club Nintendo has just about expired what with it closing.
2)Link to the past isn't on the 3DS, though I believe it's a Virtual Console purchase, look for it in the Wii or Eshop. If you want to start with the DS games, there is Spirit tracks and you have to locate a used copy somewhere I think. I personally liked it.
3)Try the Soul Silver/heartgold remakes(original DS) as those felt meaty, then do X/Y as that's the transition to 3d models and fresh new pokemon as well as a new locale. Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are remakes that use the X/Y engine as well as introducing new mega evolved/primal forms of existing pokemon from that generation.

as a sidenote: There are demos to Code Name steam, Pokemon ORAS and Monster Hunter 4( if you like an immersive world of hunting...you know....)

^Yeah, Soulsilver/Goldheart still remain the best Pokémon games imo, then I'd say X/Y simply because they are cheaper than ORAS.

Smash 3DS is different enough to the Wii U version to warrant getting it but if you're not hugely keen for more Smash then I wouldn't worry about it.

For Zelda I'd skip the NES versions as the 1st may put you off from 2D Zelda games and Zelda 2 is a very different Zelda game, A Link Between Worlds is a good start as the DS ones got a mixed reception but Phantom Hourglass is a direct sequel to Wind Waker if you want to carry on in that world.

Fire Emblem Awakening, Luigi's Mansion 2, Fantasy Life, Resident Evil Revelations and Professor Layton are the system's stand out games imo.

Project X Zone is a pretty shallow game. 40 missions and they are basically the same. I do like the action sequences. The amount of characters is cool but I didn't know many of them. I recognized about a dozen or so but the rest lost me. Bravely default is a good game. give the demo a shot.

I think I'm gonna pick up Dragon Quest VI and Shin Megami Tensei IV. I watched a bunch of gameplay for it and it looks great.

I think project x zone only works if you know the majority of the characters (which I do) but I will say I enjoyed the combat as some of the most fun I've had with a SRPG.

I just bought rune factory 4, should I go ahead and get story of seasons? I like the farming aspect the most out of those games.

Well, Story of seasons is just a rebranded Harvest moon since they couldn't use the trademark anymore. So if you were into Harvest moon then have at it.

Picked up Dragon Quest VI and ordered Shin Megami Tensei IV. I'm stoked. Two (Supposedly) amazing RPGs. My body is ready. I think I'll get Fire Emblem Awakening next check.

I just finished Bravely Default last night and I have recommended it to all my RPG loving friends. I spent over 78 hours with the game and it is truly one of the best I've ever played.

I should also say that typically I am not a lover of turn-based, random encounter style RPGs. I've never played any of the Final Fantasy games and my only real RPG experience, besides Super Mario RPG, is the Tales series. All that being said, the fact that I think so highly of Bravely Default must really say a lot about it.

My game library ranges from Mario Kart to Call of Duty to Tales of Xillia to Diablo 3 to Forza. To me gaming is about having fun - not blindly supporting only one company while thumbing your nose at "the evil other systems."

Persona Q anyone? How is it? I was looking at it last night. It looks pretty decent.

I refuse to pay 50$ for any game so I haven't bought it yet. I've only heard good thongs though and one publication last year named it GotY. Can't remember which but it was a known one.
