I agree completely. In terms of asthetics, the original is unmatched. I only quoted you because I thought the typo was funny; you refered to both iterations as "3DS," thus calling it both beautiful and somewhat ugly in the same sentence.
As a lefty, I love where the stylus is on my 3DS! But we are used to being inconvenienced so it's no big deal; we adapt as a necessity.
I don't have particularly large hands, but have experienced cramping when playing DQ IX for an extended period. The original is lovely, but it's not ergonomically designed and I cannot wait to get my hands on the 3DS XL next month.
I disagree. I think the 3DS XL looks better on the outside as well. Controls are more spread out, ergonomic, and rounded. Also no gloss finish means no fingerprints, glare, or touch resistance.

I've definitely been convinced to get a 3DS XL. The larger screens make such a big difference! I also like most of the little changes too, especially the matte finish. I love to look at glossy but as soon as I touch it the thing needs cleaning and I get a bit too obsessed with cleaning it. Matte removes that problem. The stylus is back where it belongs now too. I was never that into the cake design of the original but I also don't like the inside of the XL being entirely black so neither one wins there. It sucks that Australia fell over 3 weeks behind in releasing the thing here. Nintendo Australia has been very good recently at keeping up with European releases until now.
are they permitting people to transfer the data from the 3DS they are trading to the XL they are buying? Gamestoppo doesn't allow this, so anyone who trades loses all their downloaded games, streetpasses etc.
