Wait, Majora's Mask and which other? (note, by sequel, I mean that the games use the same Link or the game states a direct, non "legendary" connection to the previous game (like Spirit Tracks))
We're talking about the Zelda timeline here.
Let's get back on topic before our heads explode trying to figure it out even more. (Yes I know the official timeline has been released, and technically they are not sequels )
whut.
Well if you look at it that way, then every other game on the series that is not Skyward Sword or the Minish Cap are sequels to Ocarina of Time.
It's because of the split that OOT is able to have 3 different sequels. They all happen after OOT, just in different timelines. All 3 games reference OOT as the prequel and direct connection.
in other news, the blue one doesn't look too crappy:
it's a shame to see the aesthetics of the original 3DS stripped down, but i suppose the xl still looks good. you buy the thing to play it, not look at it (though i do find myself staring at the original from time to time. i'm going to miss you, sparkly resin).
@Romulx
or you can keep the sparkly aqua blue 3DS resin and get the XL as your 2nd 3DS, that's at least what I'm doing. There's no way in hell I'd sell or trade in my 2 Aqua Blue's. Most gorgeous portable hand held on the face of the Proto man planet, with the DS Lite 'polar white' waiting all snuggly next in line.
I dont know the 3DSXL just look like it was cheaply made compare to the 3DS. From the change to the paint job to the change in the stylus. I mean compared to the Aqua Blue 3DS the Blue of the 3DSXL is just meh know what I mean? Truthfully unless something happens to my 3DS I wont even bother getting a 3DSXL either that or there is some kind of cool bundle.

I like that the XL looks like an uglier, older model.
It means that there's no temptation for me to waste my money on one.
I never wanted a bigger 3DS, so the only way I was going to buy one was that if it could do a lot of things that the original couldn't and luckily for me this isn't the case.
@Waveboy: I agree with the placement of the stylus on the 3DSXL over the placement on the original 3DS and I didnt notice where the headphone jack is on the 3DSXL but yeah the placement is kinda weird on the 3DS and I can tell you that cause whenever I play my 3DS I have to use the headphones for the ultimate gaming experience. Of course at least is not like the GBA where you have to get an adapter.
Prhaps nintendo actually listened to those of us driven mad as a box offrogs by the fingerprints/smudges all over both the inside and outside surfaces. I don't think it looks any cheaper than any other ninty handheld. It just looks different from the original 3DS.
Those big screens far outweigh any love affair I might have with the outside.
